Boo boys: don't be fooled by the freedom of speech argument 11:58 - Dec 6 with 9083 viewsHogger

Many of us have had enough contact with certain Millwall fans to know that it's no coincidence they are booing an anti-racist gesture. But some argue that this is about freedom of expression. If you're tempted by that argument please go on Twitter, look at the pages of those using that as a justification for booing. Almost to a man (yup, 95% male) they are Tommy/Farage/Trump fans. Most deny covid too but that's another story...

What has that got to do with you? but politics in football does not mix and the booing WILL continue and lets see what snowflakes make of that....

What politics are you talking about? Is there political debate as to whether black lives matter or not?

Booing the kneeling is, of course, a political statement.

I remember when this happened https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/international/fifa-poppy-ban-englan .There is no place for politics in football! Clinton Morrison even said on TV "all lives matter" but to have this total bollox of players down on their knees in support of a 'political' movement is bollox and if the snowflakes do not want trouble because the booing will not stop then the snowflakes need to f,ck off out of football! I do not agree with racism in any form but this kneeling cr.p needs to be removed from football, to do it to show solidarity to anti racism is fine but week in week out for black lives matter? you and all that agree are asking for serious civil strife!!

I clapped for the NHS and I support any anti racist support group (my family fought fascists during the war) and I do not consider myself racist and married a mixed raced beautiful woman (I have been happily married for over 25 years) but this week in week out, in support in sport of what has evolved into a very questionable political movement is unacceptable!

I think it was quite clear from his posting on the other thread that he is lying.

As for the war reference, doesn't that pretty much go for every single family in the country (and beyond)?

Troll farm poster or banned poster for sure.

I always wonder where our boards most prominent “anti-racist” posters go for these threads when “Corbyn” isn’t in the Subject line though.

I tell you what is going to happen, fans will boo because we will not be forced onto our knee for a political movement in sport! And as fpr the comment of 'you are racist if you do not bend the knee' that is more of a facist statement really?
[Post edited 6 Dec 2020 13:37]

You aren't being forced to kneel you silly twit.

How it bothers anyone is beyond me. What's wrong with taking a stand (or knee) in solidarity against racism?

The only reason it's even called a 'political movement' is because the legitimasation of racism that's occurred in the last five years. That's sad, because whilst it is to an extent a political movement it should in my mind be something everyone is in favour of regardless of how you vote. The fact it isn't shows the fight was never really won by the Civil Rights Movement and still continues.

Especially if it's a cold day, it would be a good way to keep warm.

The bloke's gone anyway from here, and hopefully would be in a tiny minority of specialised pricks.

Why?

It’s been instigated by the footballers, following a conversation on a WhatsApp group of PL captains. They recognise they have a platform and want to use it.

So why is it probably time it ended?

Did you see matey's thread earlier [before it was removed] complaining about the whole BLM thing, as well as footballers kneeling?

It was actually him saying he would boo players kneeling with pride and to emphasise the point he posted an England flag to accompany the sentiment.

Like in some way the England flag is anti black people. That was certainly the context.

Our friend Paz there was all about defending his right to do so.

Just saying. Paz is not some victim, he holds some very unpleasant views but just holds back enough...

As I’ve said I don’t disagree with the sentiment but like clapping the NHS it does have a shelf life.

I was not defending his right to boo taking the knee. That is not what I said at all, as you know.
Another poster had put some words into his mouth, which was completely unnecessary as the words he put in his own mouth was enough to get him banned. I merely said that the other poster (I can’t remember who it was) should’t put words in his mouth. I made absolutely no comment on his right to boo taking the knee.

That’s not up to you or I, it’s down to the people taking the action. I wouldn’t think it’d end in the middle of a season. It might continue in perpetuity.

It’s a good gesture, and particularly relevant at football grounds, as we know that audience have been targeted by people on the wrong side of this debate who seek to stoke racial division.

Clapping the NHS whilst supporting the Tories? Why not stick the Vs up at nurses and doctors instead? Much easier and those who actually support the idea of paying essential workers properly don’t have to be dragged along into such virtue signalling.
