I go to the football to watch the game, enjoy a flask of bovril and read the matchday programme. Often I have to ask fellow supporters to sit down and reduce the noise levels so that I can follow the game. Yesterday though, I didn't have to as most of you joined me in quietly following the action at Carrow Rd. Nice to see plenty of new faces there too. It shows we are attracting new fans for the future. All in all, a wonderful day and well done Norwich on their hard earned victory.
I left the NHS in 2005, with a wage of about £34000 so my pension has been deferred since then. The 1995 pension scheme is based on salary while paying into the scheme but deferred schemes are increased by CPI every year. So, my deferred pension is now based on the equivalent of a salary of £60000. For people still working, their salary has hardly increased from the 34k. Great for me but brings home why NHS workers have been striking.
