| Forum Reply | Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabéu Stadium renovation.... at 18:55 5 Nov 2021
It is a rather impressive refurb of the existing stadium. The pitch removal technology and multi-use design is very similar to Tottenham, but works a bit differently. At Tottenham, the football pitch drops and sits in its entirety below the South Stand area. Madrid won't have had the space to do that, so have done an ingenious multi-layering of the natural pitch. The use for other sports such as tennis etc by putting in temporary back-to-back stands on the pitch is new to me. Seems a great idea. |

Spurs. 6 points guaranteed. Sadly. |

The Britannia has a 50% capacity restriction, so you're probably better off in town. Loads of places on and around their waterfront area, but a half-hour uphill walk to the ground. |

Oh, that is absolutely horrible news, another massive long-term injury when she had fought back so we'll but so recently from the last one. She is going to need every ounce of her massive determination and proven character once again. All the very, very best. |
| Forum Reply | so is everyone making a fortune on their cars? at 11:46 22 Oct 2021
Too right. But you do need to find a car to buy... earlier this week, I traded my less-than-3-year-old routine estate for a new coupe, which was in the showroom just begging to be bought (in ITFC blue, obvs). Trade-in was far better than I expected, and new price reflected that I had no chance to personalise ("sold as seen".....!!!). I expect new car prices to rise soon, simply due to supply / demand - the other model I was interested in was quoted at 6-8 months delivery... |

Thanks for that research (and later posts in this thread). If I get time, I'll make it the subject of the history display in the Fanzone on Saturday! It did get me wondering how many Crawford and Phillips would have scored in Div 3 South!!!!! |
| Forum Reply | Next Saturday, Town at Accrington, Nardge at Burnley at 22:34 26 Sep 2021
There are various routes. Anyone travelling from London is likely to go to either game via Preston, which means a shared post-match train back to Preston... And onwards... Many will go cross-country, so plenty of opportunity for friendly banter in many places and on various trains, especially as both routes seem to involve changes at Peterborough and Leeds, and some sharing of trains beyond Peterborough. Hmm. |

Just wondering how the h*ll that particular fixture combination could have slipped through. Nardge fans travelling to or via London will be on the train that Town fans pick up at Accrington on our way back home via Preston. Could be interesting on the London - Preston route Saturday morning and evening too... |

Fantastic pub. Owners do a lot for the community, too. And there's camping, for those who don't want to drive home... |

Agree it is wrong that UK double-jabbed can travel pretty freely (UK vax proof being widely accepted) but UK isn't accepting other countries' proofs. Especially when UK cases are sky high compared with elsewhere. I don't think it is Brexit -related - more standard British political games, to make just over half the population feel safe from foreign stuff. |

The 227 is from various sources, including Ray Crawford's book, and also the most reliable Town stat expert. The difference is friendlies etc, the problem games are fixtures such as Hospital Cup games! |
| Forum Reply | Electric car advice at 23:16 2 Jul 2021
I will buy electric the second I can find an EV with a 300 mile range + a 100-mile backup petrol range. Until then, I have no interest. Last week, I did an 820-mile drive in a day, with just one 10-min fuel stop. I would be fine with an hour stop at some stage to charge an EV, but anything more would be beyond a pain in the backside. I often do 550 miles in a day ( e.g. Fleetwood away...), with no electric charge point at the midpoint. So, until the range improvea or charging infrastructure improves, it isn't for me. |
