Hirst being back is massive for the way we play
at 11:40 28 Apr 2024

What a performance from him last night, really showed what we have been missing. At times he was unplayable last night, his movement, hold-up play and pace changed the whole dynamic of our forward play. It's brilliant to see him starting and it is a big big plus for the next two games.

He will be licking his lips to go up against Bobby Thomas on Tuesday, who was one of the centre backs at Barnsley that he ran past and then cut back and slotted that wonderful goal last season. I fancy him to get a breakaway goal on Tuesday night against a Coventry team which is out on its feet and will have a makeshift centre-back pairing.

Big pitch at Coventry, should be ideal for Wes to exploit and get fully up to speed on his return. If he is fit, I would personally bring Broady back in and move Omari into the 10 position and rest Chaplin....although up against his former side Conor is going to be up for the game.

Really exciting time and nicely set up for us to do the business against two teams who are either knackered or depressed!

Yorkshire blues good food pubs recommendations
at 08:05 27 Apr 2024

Heading to Hull and looking for any recommendations on places to stop to get some good pre-match food and beers, we usually find somewhere on route or near to the game. thinking near the coast or Humber, preferably not in Hull or at least not too close to stadium ...any recommendations?

QPR playing some nice stuff

Quite the turnaround for them under Cifuentes. Willock and Char are great players at this level and they’re playing some nice stuff. Hopefully they get at least a draw next weekend.

Soccer Special panel is a classic tonight
at 19:44 16 Apr 2024

Discussing the promotion permutations, they've all said Leeds and Leicester, now concluding that Ipswich have a break and its a negative but now a positive as we can recharge and there is no pressure. Tim Sherwood has concluded we have to go up as we wont be favourites next season, now or never. Football Genius. Total muppets.

5 games to stick together, get behind the lads and push for what would be an incredible ending.

Southampton midfielder 'wound up' after being booed at Ipswich

Personally not a fan of booing our former players, especially academy ones and he wasn’t treated very well by Cookie, although always to side to a story…

Seems very unlike Ipswich to say this out load
at 21:09 2 Apr 2024

But walking out last night I said to my lad, for the first time since 1992, I think we might actually be the best team in the Championship. Maybe not technically throughout the team, but the most complete. They have the guile, commitment, tactics, organisation, they're totally relentless and most importantly they're a team. You can see that when Kieran says they learn from experiences that they actually do, and they now know how to win and have been winning for two years.

So proud to be a blue with how the team / club is progressing, and actually increasingly confident that we can maintain our form and get across the line, maybe even do the most insane thing and win the bloody thing.

4.45 coach pick up for Norwich game

That is insane, do they go via Birmingham, or is it the number of toilet stops required on the way? I considered going via coach for a nano second but will give it a miss.

You've had your pasty now Feck off home

I liked that one. As well as 2-0 to the runners up. Great atmosphere and noise in the away end today.

Great win. We stepped it up second half and they couldn't live with us. We're soo lucky to have Kieran navigating our ship and the fact we've been through this before is massive for us.

COYB. Now for the long drive home.

Respect to the Arglye fans that do away games. Still a long way when you hit Bristol and that’s miles from anywhere.

Fancy kieffer to notch today.

McKenna post match interviews, fascinating
at 15:24 18 Feb 2024

I always now look forward to reading Phil’s articles with Kieran providing his analysis of our performance and the opposition, yesterdays was up there with one of the most insightful in terms of the psychology of competing with the other 3 teams. You can see why the players love playing for him, the way he’s taking pressure off and providing context on our position and how to cope with the pressures, most be great for the players.

Also glimpses into how they’re working to improve the wolf, improving his first contact approach, certainly having an effect.

McKenna: I Really Enjoyed It, a Tough Game, a Proper Game 17th Feb 2024 18:53
Boss Kieran McKenna says he thoroughly enjoyed the Blues’ hard-fought 2-1 win at Swansea City, a proper, tough game he felt required a really good performance from his side in challenging wet conditions. 13

I’d love to sit in on a team briefing or de-briefing session with him, must be fascinating. Perhaps the club can offer that as one of their ‘experiences’.

They're attempting to headhunt him from his recruitment role at Brighton. Think the Americans really should've just bought the Seagulls, would've saved them a lot of bother and cash.
