It’s more to do with his exit, forced through a cheap move to Leicester by moving to their Belgian affiliate when his contract ran out so they only got about £80,000 where as I think they were trying to get 10 times that from Leics.

Yes. When Jason Dozzell returned to Ipswich to play for Spurs in an FA cup game not all that long after his transfer, his every touch was booed. Mainly, I suspect, by his revelation that he'd always been a Spurs fan.

He got substituted and Spurs lost quite comprehensively.

His brother is still a ST holder at Spurs, or at least goes regularly. I don’t know why it’s a shock when some of our homegrown players support other clubs, Wright was Arsenal, Scowcroft and Wolfie support Manchester United, Westlake supported Leeds, Downes is West Ham and so on.

Wark got booed on his return as many were upset he left for the money.

He’d also claimed in a Sun interview to be a Chelsea fan growing up.

Yep some of our lot are just as bad. The booing and chants against Toto Nsiala for example was very sad.

Would have been good if he’d taken one of his chances.

The one where he cut in from the left especially, although he could have given Chaplin or Burns an open goal had he rolled it across the six yard box.

You know for a fact that our fans will boo Liam Gibbs in December. I’m not exactly sure what’s wrong about turning down a terrible offer at a basket case club as we were then and moving up a division but hey, some of these will be the same fans that hurled some of the worst racial & xenophobic abuse I have ever heard, at Daniel Farke as he walked to the dugouts a few weeks ago. And before anyone asks, I would love to have reported it to stewards but it was half of the stand.

Andy Marshall, when he was still contracted to us, got a very loud "dodgy keeper" before the game even started. Not technically a boo. But I couldn't imagine him playing for us again after that.

I remember Chris Kiwomya being booed when he played for QPR at Portman Road.

Will be interesting to see what sort of reaction Dozell and Downes get this season.

Worth pointing out that Jason denies making that comment. Says he said he always admired the Glenn Hoddle team, no more than that and whoever wrote the story embellished what he said.

Was it not a 2-2 draw and JD scored the equaliser?

Yes, my first day at uni, can remember listening to it on Radio 5 after my parents left.

We also had them in the FA Cup that season and Dozzell got a load of stick then as we beat them 3-0.
