It was interesting at the recent Fan Forum that both McKenna and Ashton (I think both) referenced that the new pitch is still not yet up to its full potential. And will improve as it matures.
I was pitch side for the Stoke game and for me the lines of the synthetic fibres were quite visible, and the natural grass didn’t seem that dense.
I’ve obviously got no clue how it should look or play. But clearly they expect it to improve.
Also interesting to see the state of the Hillsborough pitch and surrounding ‘Astro’ looked in a poor state needing some TLC. Kind of reminds you of the state of Town under Marcus Evans, and the gulf in club health currently between us and Wednesday. [Post edited 17 Sep 2023 19:32]

I suspect we haven’t had the best of summers when it comes to growing new grass regardless how well the project went. |  |
