Why did Evans fund several deals last January?
at 16:12 1 Feb 2020

For mainly hopeless players in a hopeless situation, at Championship level wages, yet this season with a team in the promotion mix but not good enough to beat anyone decent, in a crucial season for the club, won't release any money?

i can see why that's Lambert's favourite phrase. Can't lay a glove on any team in the top 9.

Would we be stupid enough to sell Jackson to a promotion rival?

Of course we would, and then watch the spin machine go into full effect to proclaim it a good deal.

Norris and Huws had never started together before today. Take out the keeper and it's still 23 different outfield sides selected.

Wasn't brilliant but we were the better side until Akinfenwa came on and if Judge could finish would have won. Can't believe Wycombe are top. It is our failure to win home games that is the downfall.

Contract negotiations transcript
at 13:56 1 Jan 2020

PL: Right, bottom line, Marcus. I want a six-month contract extension at Portman Road to manage the team. I've played at all the top clubs, did I ever tell you about Germany?

ME: No, Paul, I’m not going to give you a six-month contract extension.

PL: [Looking disgusted, and standing up] Aye, you’re just like all the rest, aren’t you? You sit there on your fat, spotty behind. Did you know I played with all the world stars. Paul McStay, Regi Blinker, Bobby Petta.

ME: Paul, Paul, Paul. I’m not going to give you a six-month contract extension, ‘cause I have prepared a five year one.

PL: [Grinning like a schoolboy, his voice a little choked] That’s brilliant.

ME: A million pounds a year.

PL: That’s five million pounds. [Raising a fist in the air] Jurassic Park. I’m sorry for saying you were fat, before. I just mean you’re big boned. Just imagine what this place could be like? It's just a blip at the moment. I'm so proud of how we want the ball etc etc

The big mistake was sticking with virtually the same squad as last season.
at 17:02 29 Dec 2019

Last season we didn't just finish bottom, we were miles below the standard of Championship football. So although the standard of League One is lower, is not that low that we would suddenly walk this league. If Lambert got one thing right it is that the early results moved expectations to high. It now seems those string of 1-0 away wins were a bit streaky putting us in a false position.

There should have been a big clearout in the summer, and the mistake of not doing this is now becoming apparent. A mistake equally as big as Hurst totally underestimating the strength of the Championship with his signings. Lambert will pay the price with losss of his job, if not now, then fairly soon.

Is Clive Lewis totally deluded?
at 20:09 19 Dec 2019

https://news.sky.com/story/clive-lewis-joins-emily-thornberry-in-labour-leadersh

"When trying to persuade them of our radicalism and sincerity, we often had the legacy of the 2000's thrown back in our faces.
Persuading voters that we understand the sources of their long-held resentment and frustration, of their disappointment in how Labour has conducted itself since the 1990s, will be the first step towards winning back their trust."

He thinks Labour are losing elections because people remember how they were when they were winning elections? Head totally in the sand.

But to be fair, he got 40% last time when both major parties promised Brexit.
Therefore this election result is about Brexit, not Corbyn.

johnson and corbyn are pitched into a bear pit fight, and swinson gets some tummy tickling questions to enable a libdem party political broadcast.

why hasn't she been asked how on earth if she won an election with 40% that would give her a mandate to cancel a 52% referendum?

Keane and Huws re: Lambert "back-to-back" games.
at 18:57 20 Oct 2019

Is he referring to the fact they played 12 days ago in a kickabout with Gillingham so they couldn't play today? Surely back-to-back games only has any meaning if they played 3 or 4 days ago - not twelve? What if we'd played last Saturday and they were rested - would they now be magically fitter? Bizarre comments unless he means they're playing against Rotherham.
