Best left foot since Muhren?
at 21:40 14 Aug 2019

Harbey from Derby. Terrible liability of a left back. Veno was brilliant. That sweet left peg of his always set him apart from the rugged no nonsense defending of Mowbray and McGreal. A back three we can only dream of now.

Yes and real shame about Lancaster. He could have really kicked on this season. Morris too. Our best youngsters have never had such a great opportunity to force their way into the first team.

Yes, agree with that although its the first time he has been involved this season. Def took him a while to get up to speed - Chambers was livid with him for coming way off his man for their first goal. Emmanuel trotted into the middle of defence so we had four defenders shoulder to shoulder just about! What was he thinking? Its the same sort of switching off that saw Spence lose his place in the team.

Dobra a bright spark at Luton
at 09:27 14 Aug 2019

Yes, really impressed with Dobra last night. He was up to the pace of the game from the start, was always alert and always carried a threat with his sharp passing and movement. Like Garbutt he also gets across the front line into shooting positions. Greta to see him get his debut goal, albeit with a deflection. We should see a fair bit more of the lad this season.

Huge Birthday wishes to Andy Nelson
at 09:01 5 Jul 2019

A true Town great, Cockney captain of our League Title winning team in '61-'62, Andy is 84 today. Made 214 appearances, never scored for us. Big, gritty centre half capable of taming the best centre forwards of the day - Derek "the Doog" Doogan etc. As an 8 year old that scene of Nelson holding the league trophy aloft on the Cornhill amid the blue and white multitudes lives with me to this day. He went on to manage Gillingham and Charlton before retiring to Alicante. Other memories anyone?

Top tip from Gardeners World - boil up a couple of garlic cloves, sieve the liquid, let it cool then water over crops. Monty says it works brilliantly.

Seriously ridiculous injury list

Good point about McGoldrick agentp thanks but I thought he was living in/near Ipswich during the week not driving daily from/to his Midlands home. I see Webster and Waghorn both went off injured today so perhaps all the matches are catching up with them now.

Yes amazing that they can both get through a whole season with their new clubs uninjured!

Seriously ridiculous injury list
at 08:32 5 May 2019

To have not one recognised forward fully fit for the Leeds match, most seriously injured including our leading young forwards, and not forgetting our long term injured midfielders - the clubs injury record has worsened during PLs time in charge instead of what we all longed for, improving. Whats going on? If this continues into next season, with even more games and no international breaks, it will seriously hamper our ambitions yet again. Is the club looking at what he leading clubs are doing to minimise injuries? Maybe starting up the A140.

Cole Skuse is our best centre back
at 19:37 27 Apr 2019

Yes totally agree. He read the game very well and is much more assured under pressure than Chambers and Nsiala. Well worth giving him a run at the back and could give him a new lease of life a la Johnny Wark.

Hope he has his volcanic temper under control by now for Management. We could do with even a tenth of that in our current team.

Walking Football - who plays?
at 22:35 6 Feb 2019

Depends what you can manage doesn't it. I'm pretty ok health and fitness wise but a few guys have had hip and knee replacements and several are in their 70's. One is 84 ! so we give him a 5 yard exclusion zone so he can get on the ball and do something with it. A lot of experienced footballers too just not as fit as they once were. Several ladies join in too. Good football banter too.

Walking Football - who plays?
at 22:21 6 Feb 2019

I recently started playing it in Walton on Thames and really look forward to it. Its taken off down here in a big way. We have 50 players on Thursday mornings on 3 artificial pitches across two hours. Mainly Hammers, Chelski and Fulham fans but a great lot. Anyone thinking of getting involved - just do it, it will defo help your fitness.

players out of contract - Bishops a huge must keep
at 08:04 4 Feb 2019

Of all the players out of contract soon Bishops the only one who can cut it at top Championship level , if he stays fit. He has the pace so many others just don't have. Allied with his ball skills and youth there must be a lot of clubs looking to pick him up. Before his injuries he was on a par with Will Hughes of Derby who is now doing it for Watford.

Norwich don't give the ball away and press all over the pitch. We give the ball away at will and don't have the energy or fitness needed. Game over.

Yes Cidered, that's not something we really want to hear in our position but it is further evidence of what a good judge of a player Mick McCarthy was. Granted he didn't get every new signing or loan right but he was working with peanuts. Good luck with Citys play off push. I used to watch Norman Hunter and the rest at Ashton Gate as a student at the Poly. Great days.

Yes Scowie used to get alot of stick from fans but would get into this team easily with his good hold up play, lay offs and aerial ability. Had bouts when the goals dried up but most strikers do.
