Pin Mill for me, always feel like time has stopped when I wander along the Orwell with the dogs, followed by a couple of pints at the Butt & Oyster. Perfect few hours spent
Norwich win to accelerate Leicesters downward trajectory and massively benefit us. At same time Norwich pick up injuries to a few key players like Sargeant, Sara and Rowe which totally derails the rest of their season and they slip back to 10th and confirm their status as irrelevant.
Due to an Achilles issue I am on crutches, I therefore need to park as close to the ground as possible on Saturday as I can’t walk / hobble far. My season ticket is in the West stand and normally I park Crown Pools and walk but that’s not an option Saturday. I recall there being a multi storey on Constantine Road, is that open match days and what sort of time realistically would I need to get there to ensure a spot? Alternatively what sort of time would I need to be at the Portman Rd car parks?
Averaging 2 points per game after 30 games. Would have taken that all day long at start of season! My lad was so disappointed he didn’t see a Hutchinson backflip yesterday, I pointed out he didn't do it as he and the team felt there was still enough time to win the game and rushed back to get kick off done. Winning mentality to the end! Loving it!
Anywhere around the Mid town area will give you most options both hotel wise and things to see.
If you’re looking for a reasonable priced ok hotel chain look up Club Quarters, they have a number of hotels around time square and central station areas. I use them frequently pre Covid when travelling for work.
Also be mindful when setting expectations of the hotel that real estate in Manhattan is expensive so a lot of hotel rooms are very small and don’t compare well in the size of room to cost ratios. Guess it all depends if you intend to spend any real time at the hotel or will be out seeing all the sights.
My Brother in Law is looking to move into the area and is viewing rental flats in Ipswich. He’s found one between Stoke High school and Belstead road. I don’t know the area well enough so was wondering what others thought of the area.
Any input would be useful as he’s looking to view today
My 11yr old has Christmas money to spend and has his eyes set on a Nintendo switch. I’ve done the usual trawling of Facebook market place but we either get ignored when we ask if available or the adverts are clearly scams, and I am concerned about buying without viewing so eBay doesn’t work As his budget is limited I think maybe a pawn brokers or gaming shop selling used may be his best bet, apart from CEX or cash converters are there any others in Ipswich someone would recommend for this type of thing?
It’s more than that, the whole purchasing process will need repeating and I think you need to purchase the same pair of socks for every home game and keep in a bag for the entirety of the games.
I think I can help you, I have 2 spare child season ticket seats in the Weston family area, both my kids (under 12) are no shows today so their seats are available. I am happy to let you have both but you will have to pay for the upgrade from kid to adult on one of the seats, your nephew can come for free. Last time i upgraded one of the seats to adult I had to do it via the ticket office so will depend if they are open today or not. If you want to explore send me a direct message and we will see if we can sort.
Does the capacity in the private boxes count towards total capacity? If so then those “seats” aren’t available unless you purchase a whole box, perhaps that explains it?
We’ve won the last 3, we’re playing some of the best football we’ve played for years, we’re undefeated at home this season, we have one of the most talented young managers in the country and still I’m nervous about tomorrows game! Bonkers really!
I’ve heard repeatedly both in person and on here just how crap Ipswich is as a place.
Possibly an unpopular opinion but I disagree. Having come into the area from a small nothing town in Cambridgeshire I really appreciate all that the town offers, from the array of shops (could always be more of course) to the stunning parks - Christchurch is a gem in the towns crown, to the waterside and all bars / restaurants for both my generation and the younger generation. You have lovely areas down St Peter’s and St Nicholas street with independent shops, bars and restaurants, many other park areas and some great pubs. Plus the mighty Portman Rd.
I get some areas are better than others and a lot have their issues but for me Ipswich is a great town and has a lot going for it.
What annoys me a little is some of the people that tell me Ipswich is S**t don’t even go there or have never lived elsewhere.
I travel by train with my young lad to every home game. Aside from the odd bit of noise and posturing I’d say it’s not something you should be overly concerned about. There’s always the odd one of course but last season the only time I had any real cause to move away from anything at the station was home to Portsmouth but again that was mainly noise and bravado.
Thanks, we are both season ticket holders so that greatly improves our chances. With Cambridge being our closest and easiest to get to match this season I fear the demand for tickets will far outstrip what is available.
