A Wish 13:34 - Dec 4 with 2907 viewsChurchman

Early this morning, keen supporter, follower, former season ticket holder passed away. My dad. He’d followed our wonderful club since the late 1930s and witnessed many of its greatest moments, including the 62 Champions, 1978 and 2000 at Wembley.

He was too unwell to really understand the rebirth of our wonderful club but I know he’d be just as enthused as myself and most of you if he could.

My wish is that you all cherish your loved ones while you can, the moment and the now. I was lucky enough to know and share so much with my father for so long, but the great cycle of life means these things are finite.

Finally, we’ve had a lot of dealings with the Health Service, St Elizabeth Hospice, Doctors, Nurses, carers, volunteers and helpers, Marie Curie, ambulance you name it in the last few weeks. They have all been truly amazing and it’s been humbling to see what they do in the most difficult of circumstances.

For those of you that work in that world, I cannot thank you enough.

May your dad rest in peace. He got to witness some of Town's greatest triumphs and wouldn't it be fitting if we could mark his passing with a return to the top flight. Sending good wishes to you and your family, losing a parent is a horrible experience.

Sorry to hear of your loss, may your Dad rest in peace, and glad to hear you have a lot of memories of him to stay with you, and that he also had a lot of happy memories of great Town moments over the years.
Thanks for sharing - and thoughts with you, in what will probably be a difficult time of adjustment to him not being around.

R. I. P. to your Dad.

My dad has been gone 10 years and my mum coming up to three years, but I will always be grateful to them for introducing me to ITFC, among many more things. In fact, I wrote a little piece on here on the day that my mum passed away.

I was with them the day that ITFC became Champions Of England, and my dad was in Amsterdam with me in 1981.

My condolences to you and your family.

So sorry to hear of your loss and thank you for such a dignified and poignant wish which we should all take to heart.
All the best to you and your family. Even though we never knowingly met, it's always sad to lose a fellow Blue.
May he rest in peace.

Really, really sorry to hear that. And I hope when the pain eases, you will be able to look back at all the great memories you have.

My parents are both now dead, but as an exile I am able to bring back happy memories, especially when I visit places in Ipswich and Felixstowe and walk where we used to visit and walk. And I was recently in Hove, which brought back memories of my parents during my very early childhood.

I was only thinking earlier today that I hadn't seen one of your posts recently, but I now realise why.
