Brexit Big Ben campaign raises £137,000 on 21:54 - Jan 16 by clive_baker
17.2m of you voted for it, not sure it's that surprising that this campaign has raised an average of <1p from each of them.
Yep, at this rate it could even end up being almost as popular as The Great Farage Great Brexit March. Fifty people listening to a CD of Big Ben bong, waving sparklers and looking thoroughly bored.

I dare say they’ll also be shouting abuse at any foreigners unfortunate enough to be in the area.
The very worst of Britain all gathered together.

How much for the beans?
I will give you many things. How about a pair of Superstars and a Run DMC record?
The whole thing about ringing a bell is wrong. Arrogant, triumphalist, and antagonising.
Let's just quietly get on with it.
Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me.
Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing.
Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial.
Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid.
Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.
Food banks, Australian Wildfire charities and local hospices all in need of donations and people want to wave a Union Jack and ring a bell.
Crivens.
Please note: prior to hitting the post button, I've double checked for anything that could be construed as "Anti Semitic" and to the best of my knowledge it isn't. Anything deemed to be of a Xenophobic nature is therefore purely accidental or down to your own misconstruing.

Have an uppie Mr H
Nail, head.....it is like those who now have their hands on the levers of power (!) have forgotten that some 50% of the population really disagree with their aim of crashing out of EU
As you say, this Big Ben nonsense is goady, antagonistic and hardly conducive to healing the nation's wounds

All polling since 2018 has suggested that more than 50% of the population don't want to leave the EU. Celebrating it like we've won the World Cup isn't going to bring the country back together, but then I don't think that's ever really been the intention.
Its looking promising, hopefully we'll get there. It will be worth every penny to see the looks on the faces of the likes of Gina Miller, John Bercow, Tony Blair and the like.

The 43% who want to leave the EU have a massive mandate to deliver the will of the British people. It's probably best that those who want to celebrate self harm pay - otherwise we all will

" hopefully we'll get there."
So it's a hope now rather than the certainty we were told at the election.
There will be customs checks between GB annd NI, there will be no final deal sorted bt Dec 2020 (so another extension) and frictionless trade with the EU won't happen - so much that has fallen apart BEFORE the negotiations even start.
Still, there's always Fox's 40 nre trade deals to look forward to on Feb 1st.....surely that cannot have been a lie as well ?

I doubt they’ll be present to be honest.
You’re only going to have a handful of half-wits and imbeciles there to hear it, but given they’ll all be a bit poorer for hearing a bell ring , I hope you get there too so you can have your little party.

Ah, so we can add 'a broken bell being further damaged' to 'blue passports and no foreigners' to the definitive list of things that Brexiteers have 'won'.
I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Why does it cost 500,000 to do this? They rang them new years eve. Never mentioned any cost then!
Testing, preparation and then post-chine patch-ups and repairs from any damage/set backs to renovations that incur from the process, I'm guessing. Costs for NYE were met by a number of organisations, including the BBC.

It'll be a memorable evening, an historic moment and a great celebration.
I'll be there wearing a huge smile and I invite leavers and remainers alike to join in. Remoaners can stay at home and wallow in their misery.
