Sajid Javid to issue ‘Brexit red tape challenge’ to public
at 09:37 6 Feb 2020

"Chancellor Sajid Javid will use his Budget next month to launch a “Brexit red tape challenge”, inviting members of the public to propose ways in which Britain might diverge from the EU rule book."

Anyone feel like helping him out? There must be lots of specific rules people want to be shot of, given the level of support for Brexit....

And to think some people on here support this rubbish.

Edit - seeminlgy this is misleading. Althought the UK govt is advising our citizens, it's the Chinese rules that prevent anyone holding a Chinese passport to stay in China.

Lambert OUT!!!
at 18:36 25 Jan 2020

Only 1-0 against Lincoln is a disgrace. We’ve won the UEFA league, the FA Cup, been league champions. The bloke’s hopeless and needs to go.

Wasn’t that long ago that we were seeing comments like the above quite often. Funny old game innit? Chuffed that they’ve turned it around as it all went a bit pear shaped for a while, with the huge gaps between games exacerbated by overly zealous rotation.

The long-term future of Lambert and some of these players is still up for discussion, but they’re doing what they need to do this season and increasingly with style. Long may that continue

What a muppet!

British youngsters (and some older folks too) were among the largest beneficiaries in the EU of this scheme - we used to send about 40,000 people a year overseas to study, train, volunteer or gain professional development experience.

And we were one of the largest providers of training in the EU under the programme, benefiting countless organisations in this country.

Contemptuous w@nkers.

Impact of government policy on homelessness (and related things)
at 09:47 9 Dec 2019

There's been some toing and froing around homelessness and poverty on here lately, but I can't find the threads. There seemed to be a bit of a mismatch between people saying poverty & homelessness hasn't increased despite obvious empirical evidence of rises in foodbank use, rises in poverty in the poorest households, etc.

A new study out from Warwick Uni that sheds a bit more light on the matter. Fairly daming on central government - policies leading to massive increases in forced evictions, burdening councils. I thought it was quite enlightening and helps fill in a few gaps between the links between policy and some of the high profile impacts we see in the news.
