I have to say, it's so good to see him out on the grass and looking lean and trim.

If Lambert's medical team have found a way to help him manage his knee, imagine a midfield trio of Huws, Nolan and Judge, with Lankester and Edwards beavering away on either flank. That'd be pretty tasty at League One level.

It's always been a big if, but getting Huws fit really would be like a new signing for us. Hopefully he gets 45 mins against Paderborn.

Agreed - especially if you throw Bishop, Dozzell and Downes in there too.

45 mins against Paderborn followed by 75th setback and out for another 6 months at least.

I think a lot of it has been in his head, get that right and we have a very special player on our hands - one who will be comfortably the best midfielder in the division

For me that's still a memory. Since return it's been promise and encouragement, but not yet first on the team-sheet.

The amount of teams that I have seen suggested on here lately with Bishop on the bench is nuts. Bishop has to be 1st name down when fit and I include ahead of judge. Huws and Bishop in midfield would be the best midfield that we have seen in a very very long time

That midfield 3 has no balance and would be horribly exposed

You might need a Skuse or Downes in there, granted. Although I don't think it'd be hugely exposed in the third tier. Championship would be another story, of course.

Skuse, Downes will take a mifield slot

Nolan will get one

Judge another

And Bishop is nailed on given his form last season.

I would really like to see a 4-4-2 - with a narrow diamond in midfield, and a wide player switching off a central Norwood. So something like

---------Skuse/Downes
---Bishop--------------Nolan
---------------Judge
---Edwards/Lankester
--------------Norwood

That is much more effective... Dozzel can come in for a number of the more forward midfielders

THIS IS THE FUTURE

Yep. I've seen a few 'teams for next year' posts and more often than not Nolan is in before Bishop.

And loads with Skuse in the team - some fool even had him in his 'best Town team since relegation' team.

I really hope not.

This. To play Skuse would be a backward step. Downes would be a much better fit .imo.

Not sure why picking your best players would be a backward step.

Regarding OP it would be great to have a fit Huws available, along with a fit Bishop, a fit Judge and a fit Lankester.
Add Norwood and that only leaves the back four and keeper to decide upon.
