You may or may not know, but that haul of 1.53 points per game would have been enough to be challenging for the play offs if his games for us had all been over the course of one season. This at a time when we were fighting against relegation when his more esteemed peers were playing.

Points per game, per player on 15:13 - Jan 3 with 930 views | StokieBlue | It would be interesting but need to be careful as it ignores correlations with other players. For instance someone might have a higher PPG than someone else simply because the rest of the team were playing better, a striker was on fire or the opposition were poor when he played. If the data can be sourced it's easy to work out and would be interesting. SB

Looking at the Fixtures page on TWTD it looks like Gav has all the information you need as he's used it to create the page. If you ask him it should be easy to get your info using pandas if you can be bothered. SB

Points per game, per player on 15:21 - Jan 3 with 885 views | midastouch | I'm all for analysing stats but you can sometimes get some strange anomalies from that particular stat. For example, for a long stretch of games Spurs never won a game that Gareth Bale had started in and we all know how well he turned out in the end! Once he finally broke that stat (that followed him around like a bad smell) he never looked back. In fact during his last couple of seasons with Spurs (before his transfer to Real Madrid) he was virtually unplayable. However, I'm sure there must be certain players that have contributed more to our cause when starting than others. Without wanting to state the obvious, I would imagine KvY or Downes would be well ahead of Nsialia for example. Would be interested to know the difference between Holy and Norris. Holy went several games successive games with a clean sheet I recall.

Excellent - thanks Guthers KVY stands out like a sore thumb, Kenlock as a more surprising stand out You could put a team out like this Holy - 1.87 KVY - 2.44 Wilson - 2 Chambers - 1.67 Kenlock - 2.14 Rowe - 2 Skuse - 1.8 Downes - 1.89 Judge 1.73 Jackson - 1.70 Norwood - 1.83 Interesting that 2 of the stronger performers this year in Woolfenden and Garbutt don't have a great record in this regard

Transfermarkt market values by GeoffSentence 3 Jan 2020 12:48If you have ever wondered how transfermarkt.com comes up with their market values for players, apparently they have a 'crowdsourced' system.
That is registered users discuss the value of players on their forum, then a judge decides on the basis of the discussion what value to apply.
This is surprisingly well respected. According to https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0377221717304332
"Some of the most influential newspapers and magazines in Europe regularly quote Transfermarkt's market values for football players (Bryson et al., 2012, Herm et al., 2014), which have been found to correlate closely with experts’ estimates and player salaries "
There are some obvious drawbacks though, it works best for well known players and where there is a lot of dicsussion.
For supporters of a lower tier provincial football club, some of the valuations can look a little out. Downes is currently down with a market value of E900K. and Woolfenden as E90K.
I think we need a few TWTDers to register and bolster their value. Also I believe they only update it at point of sale and during the close season. [Post edited 3 Jan 2020 15:44]

Thanks for sharing that. "There are some obvious drawbacks though, it works best for well known players and where there is a lot of discussion." It's also like that in Fifa. My lad plays that a lot. I think he said Nsiala was our highest ranked player on Fifa at the start of the season although I would imagine that might of been revised down since launch!

I expect most of you will know this but for those that didn't, Toto didn't start playing football until he was 15 (see the link below) so when you consider that he's done very well even just to make it as a pro! https://www.itfc.co.uk/news/2018/october/toto-nsiala-gives-money-to-congo-orphan

I was there for his debut - one of the funniest moments I've witnessed in football. He was ok, but the incredulousness of our fans when he made a save was something else.

Who was the reserve goalie who made I think was his home debut for Ipswich and dropped a howler, might of gone through his legs? I remember being in the North Stand and at half time when they showed a replay of it on the TV somebody started singing "Are you Andy Marshall in disguise?" and it literally started a punch up! No kidding! [Post edited 3 Jan 2020 15:56]
