Would've been on the soft side but seen them given.

It's a yes from me. Was in the back and knocked him over. We got away with that.

Its a yes from me too, but no doubt the ref will even it out in the second half, he's been good so far

I genuinely wouldn’t have been screaming for one if it was us, but yes seen them given

I shouted "Oh No!!" when Janoi miscontrolled the ball right into the path of Clark. I thought it was a clumsy shoulder and a peno. Thankfully the Ref made the correct decision.

50/50 for me.

Clumsy from Donacian, but Clarke clearly looking for it, so put doubt in refs mind.
Sky are saying def pen at HT. Fk em.

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

I’d expect it to be given if that was on Hirst in their area.

In the 'seen them given' category but Clarke was going across him to get fouled so can see why the ref didn't point to the spot.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

No but I was worried in real time. For me he gets level enough and Clarke goes down far too easily. Playing for ig and Ref didn't buy it. Replay for me showed it wasn't a pen.

Clarke may have been given it if he hadn't been playing like Bambi on ice for much of the half.

I think it would have been given, had he not stuck his hand out, thinking it was a penalty...

Not in the back, no. Thought it was a pen, as soon as you're behind the attacker, doing something like that you're asking for trouble really. Got lucky.

They’ve changed the interpretation and this is no longer a penalty. I had a long discussion with an EPL ref two weeks ago where the sending off of Diaz for City v Fulham was used as the example - red last year not even a penalty this.

Looked like it from the irt camera front view, but not from the one behind shown in replay (which I think was the ref's view?)

Both been denied obvious penalties IMHO.

So shrug.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

I think so, but then we had one denied that was even more obvious so it's evened out at least.

There's was a 'seen them given' type. Ours was absolute stonewall and a red as well. Bottled it.

If everyone takes the blinkers off it was a penalty (although obviously less of a pen than the Hirst one). He also gave the ball away a good amount including getting Morsy booked, conceding needless corner etc. Don’t mean to single him out but he shouldn’t be anything more than cover (which I assume is the plan anyway).

I'd says ours was far more obvious than their's. Theirs was seen them given, seen them not without VAR. Ours was a stonewaller. Reckon the ref didn't dare give it after the decision in the first half, espeically as their centre back would have been due a red card too.

I think with VAR, the one on Clarke they don't intervene as it's not a clear and obvious error. The one on Hirst, he's being called to his monitor no question.
