I never hear these things.... However...
It seems we are close to signing a new keeper. Some experience in Championship and more recently League One and expecting to be the number one.

Special Report: How a soccer agent and Chinese tycoon planned to trade in player
at 08:23 5 Jan 2019
What Mendes and Guo didn’t publicly reveal then, or since, was that they also envisaged creating a network of clubs and soccer academies in Europe and buying and selling players, emails and internal presentations related to the deal show. Such a network would enable the partners to sidestep a ban on investors buying stakes in players and trading them. With the help of top agents like Mendes, such trading could capture profits that might otherwise go to assist smaller clubs.
Trading and representing players, Fosun believed, according to an internal presentation from 2015, was the only sustainably profitable part of the soccer industry.

A tidy first half, Dozzell and Waghorn the stand out players. Never really in any trouble, although I missed the first five minutes so anything might have happened before the ITFC goal. A fair few here, lots of blue.

Is anyone going? I'm working in Horsham on occasions and have scheduled to be there Tuesday and Wednesday next week so I can take in the match, but even the club site lacks information. Parking at Gatwick looks mandatory....
Spare tickets to UEFA U17 final in Rotherham - FOC

I've got two adult and two child tickets to tonight's (6PM KO) UEFA U17 final in Rotherham between Italy and Holland (who knocked England out on penalties in the semi). We now can't make it and these tickets aren't expensive, but if anyone local wants them they are "print at home" PDFs and I'd happily email them on.

I was trying to remember who said "I'd rather have the points on the board than a game in hand" and came across these quotes collections from Shankly and Paisley.
It reminds me of many from Sir Bob and the Collbolds - you couldn't say these things today, could you....
Shankly on boardroom meetings - 'At a football club, there's a holy trinity - the players, the manager and the supporters. Directors don't come into it. They are only there to sign the cheques.'
Radio Merseyside reporter to Shankly - 'Mr Shankly, why is it that your team's unbeaten run has suddenly ended?' Shanks replied: 'Why don't you go and jump in the lake?'
'I always look in the Sunday paper to see where Everton are in the league - starting, of course, from the bottom up.'
'In my time at Anfield we always said we had the best two teams on Merseyside - Liverpool and Liverpool Reserves.'
Celebrating Liverpool's first European Cup win in 1977
"This is the second time I've beaten the Germans here... the first time was in 1944. I drove into Rome on a tank when the city was liberated.

Fulham remind me a bit of West Ham in the 2003/4 season - a team we just didn't have the beating of, despite us probably being better than 20 other teams in the league. Some times you come up against teams like that - I just hope we don't face Fulham in the play offs as the last three results suggest more disappointment (although making the play offs would be pretty impressive!).
Police and the army

Via a friends Facebook post.
.Just to make non police friends aware, "increasing police levels", means they've cancelled all leave and days off for existing rank and file officers, and make them work 14+ hour days 7 days a week. You can't actually increase police levels without employing more police, as opposed to making millions of pounds of cuts and decreasing the police by 22,000, which is what Theresa May did as Home Secretary. That's the real reason we need to deploy the army to do the police's job, because they've been stripped to a dangerously low level. I worked for the Met under Labour and Tory, and trust me, this rot started when she was Home Secretary.
Thinking of all my old colleagues who won't see their kids this half term, don't get a holiday, and are working hours and hours in the hot sun with no breaks, for xxxx money, and towards a xxxx pension which they'll be dead by the time they can claim, due to May

The "people" clamour for the youngsters to play as they are all brilliant and the old crew aren't.
The "people" clamour for Brexit as it will bring unicorns and rainbows.
MM plays the kids and the result ain't so great. The "people" blame MM for playing "the wrong youngsters".
Brexit will arrive and it will be turgid where the unicorns aren't even Rhino's and the rainbows never arrive as the sun no longer shines. People will say they didn't want "this sort of Brexit" and blame whoever the PM is.
Experts eh? Who needs them?
