Why does it always happen to us... 09:43 - Dec 17 with 6719 viewschrismakin

Alot was said at the time of appointing M/A about the Rolls appointment and again if the Athletic is correct which you'd have to assume for for them to print... are the BC fans spot on and are we just going to have problems no matter who managers us.

Maybe this is the Norwood 'Hands are tied meaning.

I do wonder if the Amercians have a plan B if it appears like the Ashton train is just continue on its negative journey.

Why does it always happen to us... on 09:49 - Dec 17 by Metal_Hacker

Why are our fanbase always looking for something ?

Live for tomorrow ffs

The negatives around here are bonkers at times - we've just announced an exciting young manager not 24 hours ago and we're looking backwards not forwards

I couldn't give a flying rat about what's happened - Cook has gone

Whether there was an issue with fitness or not , it really doesn't matter right now

Honestly !

Where can I buy one of those flying rats?

Agreed. If some want to bury their heads in the sand then that's fine, press ignore. Most of the same posters had no problem ignoring Lamberts and Cooks failures for way longer than they should have.

There shouldn't be some weird clamouring to silence anything that goes against "everything is great". People should be able to read different opinions and thoughts and come to their own conclusion.

I agree to some point and the ignore button is there for a reason, however it is very tiring. It seems to be the same people trying to find an axe to grind against Ashton. It seems like a race to be the first to say 'I told you so', especially as some are reading the negative posts by a one or two Bristol City fans.

As for as I am concerned Ashton hasn't done much to warrant these sort of posts whilst at Ipswich. I am delighted we haven't gone for a serial failure or journey man and at the moment I will give Ashton the credit. I am more than willing to take pelters for this if things go horribly wrong ala Hurst.

Looking forwards, rather than unpicking the Cook era the day after the new man was appointed...

Isn't Pert a specialist fitness and conditioning coach? Is Rolls going to be part of the new setup?

There's nothing to agree with SB, there's no inside scoop, it's a press release by The Athletic. You once moaned about me being to positive, now you're moaning because i've shared something of relevence to the club to discuss.

I don’t think it’s the sharing of something that people have a problem with, it’s the negative narrative that you’re trying to surround the post with that people have taken exception to. As much as you’re welcome to your opinion, people are also welcome to call you out on it.

I sincerely hope Cook and Ashton *did* fall out given recent results.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

You've been sticking the knife into Ashton since day one based on what Bristol City fans say. Just look at the last sentence of the post.

It's been weird, like he wronged you previously or something.

We need to move on together and get behind the new regime.

There hasn't been alot, and as we saw, the fans certainly don't hold him in great regards, but I've just finished watching the below and I found it quite balanced and possibly of interest to some

Not my fault it does always seem to happen to us

Finished 5th in prem, then got relegated
got taken over, got keane, then we saw how that went
got a young manager, Then got lambert relegated to league 1
got taken over, new successful manager in, midtable league 1, sack manager
get new potentially promising manager in, possible issue with backroom setup which could stop any successful developments..

So yeahh, why does it aways happen to us.

Bullsh1t.

The jury is out on Ashton as everyone knows. What pisses people off is the parroting of the Bristol City fans.

Is it ?

Ashton was being worshipped on here, on twitter and at the fans forums after 2 months at the club. Bristol City fans coming on to this forum and reply to everyone’s tweets is absolute annoying and pointless. But I also think it’s worth taking on board that Ashton is loathed at every club he’s been at. Is the Jury out on him, maybe it’s turning a bit now but don’t deny he was absolutely worshipped by many.

Hmmmm, could it be more specific than that.

Good things happened before that list. So good things have happened to us.

Have you tried supporting another team and trying a different message board, just to see if it is you?

Worth trying, not too long of course, maybe report back in ten years?

So because Paul Cook who failed miserably blamed the fitness of the players, something he also done last season when he failed miserably, that means our entire back room staff are a shambles and we are forever destined for failure. Righto.

We've been crying out for a more modern structure - a recruitment team, a fitness team, a head coach and their team - they now need to work together

McKenna has come in knowing exactly what the roll entails - Cook didn't sign up to that.

If there was a lack of harmony between Cook and the performance team, it "happened to us" because we didn't properly sort out how our management structure worked in the Summer.

Agree, I said that when he first popped up.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. That BCFC kid wafts around causing trouble. Makes no sense to me, he's not one of us so can't be basking in camaraderie so can only be waiting around for the chance to say "I told you so" to a load of strangers. Baffles me.

There was I thinking you were on the happy pills now when in reality you’ve swallowed the Bristol oddity’s daily nonsense along with many others.

I hate to break it to you, but not everything you read in the media is true or in context. Try taking as you find and then you can wade in when there is something to wade in about.

In the meantime, why not ask Ashton? You’ve got the club’s address. If you are prepared to believe everything you read then I’m sure you will believe his response.

The fitness thing is interesting. Everyone else is visibly fitter than us. Our oppositions seem to be getting more defenders back than we do when being countered and get more attackers forward when counter-attacking.

Barrow's second goal on Wednesday a good example of this.

Yes, this season was supposed to see an increase in fitness levels, but it’s not been noticeable. The new bloke will be used to players who commit to training and keep fit away from the training ground. Wasn’t it one of the things the Keane got annoyed about?

Probably easier to list the things Keane didn't get angry about than those he did!

But tbf, he insisted the squad undertook a military bootcamp in pre-season which basically knackered or injured half of them. So not sure he was all that clued-up on modern fitness ideas and techniques...

Is it fitness?
Hard to tell with shape and organisation as poor as ours. I wouldn't be surprised to find that we're racking up similar running numbers to everyone else in the league, but just in pointless recovery runs that make no difference to anything.

No one has worshipped him.

Some people have taken it upon themselves to spread and reinforce baseless speculation from a few bitter loons at Bristol who, like the loons here, speculated wildly on things they had not direct knowledge about. Its damaging.
