Or Eco hypocrites? People responsible for this mess have no right to preach about environmental matters.

That's a disgrace.

Whatever Glastonbury try's to suggest.... it is a MASSIVE polluter.

People are polluters. If everyone who went to the event to personal accountability it wouldn't be this way. But guess what? Most people are selfish pricks.

They make a moderate profit, the bulk of which is given to charity. Without volunteers, they wouldn't be able to stage the festival at all.

I worked there as a volunteer for 13 festivals over 15 years.

Fair enough, I respectfully withdraw my comments.

There's a quarter of a million people on site over the weekend. There's bound to be a bit of mess. But it all gets cleared up and returned to farmland in a matter of weeks. Indeed, during the festival itself, the overnight mess on the ground has usually gone by the next morning, thanks to the army of litter pickers.

No excuse for leaving tents and chairs etc behind.

Lazy, disgusting people.

There are simply no excuses for that mess.

Littering is such a dirty, lazy habit.

I'm not sure 200,000 people can go somewhere like that and not leave it like that. It might actually be better to factor in the cost of a professional clean and get everything recycled and disposed of properly.

I have never been, but from pictures, it seems the bins provided are completely inadequate.

Agree. That's why it is odd for the OP to look at this, and somehow decide to have a pop at the 1% of people there who do give a fook.

I would take my own bags for my rubbish and take it away with me.

How hard can it be?

They absolutely trashed the place last year, it was unbelievable. People throwing up all over the shop, practically full picnic hampers just left uneaten, half-drunk magnums of champers. Such a waste.

I've been to a festival where, due to rain, it was physically impossible for me to carry all my belongings off-site with me at the end of the festival without being twice as fit as I was. Tried to ask stewards where I could leave gear I couldn't carry for recycling etc, was met with stony silence.

I fully expect to be slated for this, but attending a festival can be incredibly hard work and not everyone who attends has experience of doing so. It's not as simple as just calling people lazy.

As i said, i've never been. I just assumed people move around a lot and can't be towing bags of rubbish around. Obviously I didn't mean people should casually throw their rubbish on the floor but it appears more of a problem of inadequate bins etc. I might be wrong.

Yes MM, people should take their tents away. I didn't think they left them anymore. Clearly they do. That's not really on.

Probably taken substances with them that shrink the stomach to a walnut, yet still loaded up with food and lashings of ginger beer.

Or bolly, in this instance.

I wasn't suggesting you were saying it's ok. I didn't think that.

I was just joining in with the complaining in general.

I do hate litter though. To the point I can be a bit fussy.
