Is there much to do in WoW other than grind and grind and grind?

I'm all about EU4. Love that game.

Great game although I always enjoyed the original.

Something rather pleasing about rocking up in your B2 bombers in 200BC when the Romans have just invented chariots.

Splendid.

I played the original on an Atari ST.

There was another game similar to what you're ddescribing that I loved, made by Bullfrog I think and that was one where you could send planes against stone throwing enemies.

Have to try to remember the name.

Edit, quick google and it was Populous.

Civ has costs me more hours of my life than I would like to think about, the only one I never enjoyed was the off world one, never got into that.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

I remember Populous.

You were basically a god and guided your tribe to do things. Was one of the first isometric games that allowed you to spin around the axis of the world if I remember correctly.

Can't be having just EU4, need the full range of CK2, EU4, Vic 2 (the best IMHO, but it needs a sequel urgently) and HOI4. Best Grand Startegy games available for my money.

Total War looks sexy, but grinding battle after battle, you realise the strategy element just doesn't cut the mustard.

There is so much content in WOW, you find out new stuff all the time.
Of course you have to grind for rep but with your guild it becomes quite fun.

Absolute classic one of my favourite game series. Loved the old advisor videos in Civ2, Elvis 😂

I have been trying to find a way to play this on Windows 10 for ages, every download I try just doesn't work.

At the end of CIV2 one of the options to win is to be build a spaceship and set off for Alpha Centauri.
Have you ever played Sid Meiers Alpha Centauri or Alpha Centauri Crossfire (the sexy advanced one with added weapons, armor and more factions)
Its the same game engine but the Tech advances are split into Fission, Fusion, Quantum and Singularity eras.
Your units have a choice of 4 reactors (Fission, Fusion, Quantum, Singularity) 10+ armor types, 13+ weapon types and 8+ chassis and also numerous special abilities. You're only allowed 64 different unit types at any one time.
If you like CIV2 you'll like SMAC but get the crossfire version.
I picked it up from game for £2.49 on offer.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

You'll likely have to run Civ2 in compatibility mode for Win 95 or through something like DosBox but I've not tried.

It’d help me to guage whether I’d like it by comparing it to something I enjoy regularly on the mac. So is it better than pornhub or what?

Being a tad more serious, I reckon my boy would like this. I’m not sure where he’s got it from but he’s into designing cities atm. Draws them, makes them out of lego, wants modelling clay for Xmas.... This could scratch an itch.

Sim City would be cheap to pick up I would think, especially an older version, Cities Skylines is quite good too. Both are city building simulators and actually fun if you enjoy that sort of thing.

Civ is more about world conquest and domination by various means.

Loved Civ 2. I now play Forge of Empires. Good, free, interactive strategy game.
