Anyone checking the Leeds forum?
at 20:58 26 Apr 2024

I suspect more Leeds fans will be collecting posts on this forum if they pull off a second half rout (which they are more than capable of doing)

A return for Bart as No.2/3 if Walton leaves?
at 20:57 26 Apr 2024

Will always love Bart, but he is a different kind of keeper for how we play, I don't think it would be wise unless he somehow takes on a coaching hybrid role

Chelsea will probably want to start thinking about regaining money somewhere as their financial plan is a gamble on hitting the Champions league to cover all the "payment-over-time" obligations they've racked up.

Szmodics is a tidy player and someone I think would be an asset in the Championship, if we go up though? Unsure of that.

Foxes Talk liked us until we, and Leeds, became a legitimate threat. I think they don't hate Ipswich but are just feeling the pressure from having it in the bag and then falling away.

One thing about luck, is we have had a bit of good fortune on our side in a couple of recent games, but that's the rub of it really. Like all teams, we've had our fair share of s*ite luck to balance it out.

I have a sneaky suspicion most Leicester fans would be happy if they and Ipswich got promoted rather than they and Leeds.

Ongoing criticism of KM, as per Bristol game
at 11:54 2 Apr 2024

Honestly, nothing will ever beat the celebration from Burley and Dale Roberts at Wembley. That image is pretty iconic in town lore. We never got to see McCarthy wave his knickers around his head, so maybe KM is planning on upping the ante and righting that wrong as well.

Hypothetically Speaking…

I honestly wouldn't care about it to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I like a derby match but there is something oddly satisfying about the prospect of not having to breath the same oxygen as them.

Anywhere I can get stats on the distance of our goals/shots?
at 08:46 3 Mar 2024

'You can't win the raffle if you don't buy a ticket' for sure.

However, I love the way we play all around really, nothing used to pish me off more than under Lambert (and Cook to a degree) where we would run deep on the flank and then have to pass back.

In L1 I commented that a lot of goals for other teams (not just against us) you saw on the highlight show were often on the edge of the box and central. KM has a very solid AMC setup in place which helps our wingers get into space rather than dead ends, so the whole system seems improved by having someone who can be brave on the edge of the box, or switch to the wing if there is a gap.

NP, I was drawn to Sam Morsey's average distance of 26.1 (3 gaols)

- but Connor Chaplin has 11 goals averaging around 19.3 yards, that is bloody insane from a player that I wasn't sure about at all for the first few months.

7 wins from 11 games?
at 08:38 3 Mar 2024

The law of averages from previous seasons really do not apply here, sadly - 4 teams could mathematically get 100+ still, and 3 of those have a bit of wiggle room to hit that target. I wouldn't feel comfortable predicting 25 points would be enough at this stage.

Our average shot distance is 16.9 yards vs the opposition average of 17.8 yards

Leicester have averaged shots at 16.7 yards vs the opposition average of 18.1 yards

Sooo... there isn't much difference at all

Lots of stats here

So far, we've lost the least amount of games this season...
at 08:20 3 Mar 2024

Which makes it even more remarkable to think about.

Town: 4
Leicester: 7
Leeds: 6
Southampton: 7

Obviously points means the most with us racking up more draws, but it really is nice to see how hard to beat we are, all while playing positive football.

That is over-simplified logic. For as long as we were badly underfunded under Evans with no kind of sustainable contract/asset management then the money invested was surely catch-up for the years of neglect. Given Evans' last attempt to woo town fans was to advocate we'd play the youth team in the senior squad, we were in desperate need of repair.

Preventative measures usually always end up being cheaper than repair measures of course, but we had to spend to remain in League 1, let alone snag promotion. I don't think I am being over the top in that assessment, look at how many of our first team players under Lambert went out to Colchester and non-league teams without really making an impact there either.

What got us promoted was Kieran McKenna's ability to manage the assets more so than buying our way out of the league. A league we never would have been in had Evans funded the club properly with a sustainable contract/asset management system in place.

I have to admit, I don't see anything in it as people say "Good lad" in this way too. To me, it clearly wasn't Rodgers doing anything bad.
