My cocktail of Special Brew and Cointreau - when I was 17. Nobody touched my drink with a bargepole! |

Was terrorised by one in my room last night - think you can see it and then it goes off somewhere, then makes a return at the most inopportune moment. Managed to splat the thing in the end. I despise them. |

I wondered this too - never hear any up to date information on this. We have stopped cleaning so much now, just stuff that we feel needs it. Still worries me though. |
| Forum Reply | Going to the pub at 11:29 8 Sep 2021
Only been going twice a month since had to cut back on spending, this has been for the last 4 years. I am only going to a quieter pub now since I have had the courage to start going out again. Really want to go to the busy town one but still feeling so scared as it's more crowded. I don't really drink much now, but still enjoy the getting ready with great music on build up. Only problem is, the music will not be to my taste when I go anywhere! |

Good luck with it - it was pretty simple to do, and I didn't feel pain when having to extract the blood from my finger. It can be hard if you are a but squeamish though. It only takes a split second, that part! I am glad it encouraged you to do it - let me know how it goes xx |
| Forum Reply | Christmas Shortage Warnings at 19:39 5 Sep 2021
Totally agree. I know times have changed now but Christmasses used to be so special when I was a kid. The round of family parties we all attended, nobody wanted to go to the shops!! I flatly refuse to go to any sales on Boxing Day - cannot understand the mentality of people who queue outside a shop from 4am... feel so sorry for the staff too who get sod all time to spend with their families on Christmas Day because of it. |

You have worded it so well, as it's how I feel a lot of the time. I too do not want medication as it would make me worse, I did try a couple of years ago and it made me into a zombie who felt nothing, and was a risk to my eye condition. I am so sorry about your Dad and the breakdown of your relationship. I have been oddly happy in the last month, got heavily into my old goth music (an ironic statement I agree!) but it enthuses me, wakes me up, makes me so happy. I spend a lot of my time in a strange fantasy world where it is 1984, odd as it sounds, as I hate the world and the situation in today's world. I know that sounds really weird and unreal - but if its making me so happy, where is the problem? I am not sleeping well - lucky if I get 6 hours uninterrupted - I am physically exhausted but my mind is so alert and awake. Do what you can to make yourself get through each day, and take each day as it comes. I wish you all the luck in the world and thank you for posting what you feel. I tend to hide it from people lately, but find it hard to talk about or tell people. |
| Forum Reply | Slippers at 15:49 31 Aug 2021
Not as often as I used to - either bare feet or socks if I am cold. I know its REALLY cold when I have to get the slippers out! A pair of cream coloured leopard print if you are wondering! |
| Forum Reply | No masks…..awful…utter disgrace. at 12:24 29 Aug 2021
Went to Clacton yesterday - barely anyone wearing masks there either. I am exempt but felt uncomfortable with so many crowds. We only stayed on the pier for 15 minutes and had to get out as I was on verge of a panic attack. The trains were ok, not too busy and masks on there and spaced out well. We mainly went for my visit to a record shop there, which we spent 2 hours in. |
| Forum Reply | How many on here went to the game today? at 11:59 29 Aug 2021
I didn't go yesterday - had a day out booked in for ages before the season started and did that. My Dad was meant to go but he was too scared to, as he is worried re covid so much (his best friend has caught it from a hospital stay). I will be back for the next one though! |

Oh no - we have got ones from Home Bargains as well as Aldi and the Co-op had sold out. Not looking forward to emptying that! |
| Forum Reply | Will you have the booster jab when offered? at 18:55 23 Aug 2021
Yes, but not keen on having it done the same time as the flu one. Already have my flu one booked in October in Boots in town, so not sure what will happen. Nobody seems to know if it is definite yet, and would have thought this should been sorted months ago to start in September. |

That is shocking news. I really liked him and his humour, went to see him at the Regent a couple of years ago and he was hilarious. Will be sadly missed and 8 Out Of 10 Cats will never be the same now. RIP Sean. |
