Some interesting names on here... 12:46 - May 24 with 2696 viewstractorboy1978

Marcus Forss is someone I've liked for a couple of years. Wonder if he'd be obtainable on a permanent from Brentford? Would be a cracking signing. Jerry Yates also seems to really fit the bill in terms of the attributes McKenna wants.

I liked Forss during his purple patch at Wimbledon - he was on TV v MK Dons and looked really good on the day.

Thought he may have gone on to regular Championship football by now.

Forss & Thompson double deal.

Danny Loader another that excites me.

I mentioned Danny Loader a few weeks back. Never heard of him really just saw he was at Benfica and out od contract and it struck me as being the right profile.

A couple of names on there that would pique interest if true

He’s at Porto B, not Benfica.

He signed a 2 year deal in 2020 - but Porto hold a 2 year extension on his contract, which I don’t believe has been taken up yet and not sure when that will expire.

14 in 31 this season leading Porto B scoring charts.

He’d be a significant coup, a major signing of possible, but will attract a lot of interest.

Porto, you're right.

I don't know what the set up is for B teams in Portugal, do they just play other development squads or do they play against lower league teams?

I found him on TrnasferMarket listed as out of contract.

Lower league teams, but the standard is poor - basically playing in front of one man and his dog

A name i haven't seen mentioned is Nathan Broadhead, on loan at Sunderland last season got 10 in 20. Quick, took his goal really nicely vs us, 23 years old. Seems to fit the bill.

They want him on a permanent so going to be very tough

Really poor would be an overstatement, and Porto B finished below midtable last year, which possibly shows why Loader hasn't made the jump to the first team.

You look at Rio Ave, winners of the division, have largely operated at the top flight in recent years, bounced back this year at the first time of asking, yet average a crowd of just over 600 fans for the season.

Other than Hirst and Hardie, there's none I particlarly like the look of.

Either they're one-seasons wonders, 30+ has-beens (Carroll FFS!) or more non-scoring forwards of the type we have had too many of in recent times.

Rhys Healey is hardly a one season wonder and would be the one that excites me the most. He's achieved a lot more than Hirst for example.

Can't see any way he'd go from being the hero at a newly promoted Ligue 1 club to come here, but Ashton is the sort of bloke I'd trust to sell someone the dream.

Maybe I should add "wildly unlikely" as a caveat as well.

They have to sell, they have been hit hard financially, if they got Simpson in return they could view that as a win to their fanbase.

I don’t think a 20 year old want away striker who’s scored 9 goals in half a season at League 2, in replacement for their 31 goal League 1 striker would be seen as a win by any fans.

I also don’t think Simpson would carry much weight in negotiations - it may make a minor dent in the figure they’d want, and that’s like to be around £2M-£3M.
