Hello all,
My great mate out here in Alstonville in Australia, urbanblue, has been so miserable about Town's recent demotion that I thought it would be a good idea to join your merry throng and lend my spiritual support to your worthy cause. I grew up in the countryside here watching the great players of the 1960s, the Charltons, Jimmy Greaves, Nobby Stiles et al. It was black and white TV, so late at night that my parents would make me and my brother go to sleep early, then my Dad would wake us up about 11 at night to watch Big Match. I played as a boy for several years here and loved it.Wanted to be like Charlie George. So here I am now, happily an apprentice follower of your great club. Looking forward to watching and reading about the club's culture and imminent future rise through the ranks. Cheers you all.

I would reconsider this life choice if I was you

My hobbies include being quiet during trips, clapping with songs, and diabetes.

I mean this in the nicest possible way, but I would get out before it's too late if I were you. Save yourself the heartache.

Welcome, friend.

As you are a Towen novice we can't expect you to answer a couple of questions usually asked of new members. BUT... favourite cheese?

They don't have cheese there.

It's all beer and red meat.

In some places Thai food.

Hey bluetim mate welcome ... You did it!

So, everyone go easy eh! We have a new fan who I'm not sure can even name a player yet! All last season, every week Tim would ask how we got on and I'd give him an update. Then he progressed to watching highlights. I filled him in on some of our history (including the clip of our 6-0 drubbing of Man Utd *sigh*)) and now here he is.

By the end of the season hopefully he'll be riding the wave to promotion with us all.

I think we still need an answer to the cheese question.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

Please pass on my regards to Urban.

I met him for a beer in Surfers Paradise a couple of months back. Top chap.

He's led you down the wrong path football club wise though..

Please note: prior to hitting the post button, I've double checked for anything that could be construed as "Anti Semitic" and to the best of my knowledge it isn't. Anything deemed to be of a Xenophobic nature is therefore purely accidental or down to your own misconstruing.

Welcome as a supporter.
I started supporting Town in 1990-1991, and even though I now and then (especially these last 10 years or so) have fel like blowing my head off, I am still a proud Town supporter.
It´s a very special club. I would suggest a visit to Ipswich (if you are able to do it), it´s a friendly place (take no notice of the bickering and sometimes raw tone here on TWTD...), nice town (especially the docks) and fine pubs.

Ok sorry, had to cook dinner. Cauliflower cheese by chance. Stilton is the answer! And no, I don't know any of the players, coach, nothing. In off the deep end...

Welcome.

If you hang around until 28th April next year I might tell you about the season that Ipswich Town became Champions of England.

I would never call Nobby Stiles a great player but Jimmy Greaves was pretty good, the greatest goalscorer that I have ever seen.

Is there no cricket you can play?

Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me. Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing. Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial. Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid. Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.
