That ball from Leif! on 09:21 - Oct 26 with 3456 views | Swansea_Blue | it was great to see Freddie gambling on crosses last night too. A few games ago we were swinging balls like that across the 6 yard box and there was nobody in there to tap them in. I can't remember whether that was with Freddie on the pitch or jackson, but the seemed to be waiting for pull backs more. No such hesitation yesterday, they were clearly looking to get in behind and everyone was on the same page.

We have a bit of history with left backs.

There were a couple of occasions last night when Burns (who I thought was good last night, most others don't seem to agree) flashed a ball across and no one was there. Great to see Freddie was on 2 occasions last night though. Also worth mentioning the ball from Edwards to Davis for the first. perfectly times and weighted for the first time cross. Thought Edwards did pretty well again, on the whole as well.

There was the predictable knee jerk nonsense after his uninspiring debut but even then, not sure anyone was really having a meltdown. Well, one or two maybe :)

That ball from Leif! on 09:29 - Oct 26 with 3334 views | N2_Blue | The thing that makes this goal is crossing that in first time. It's an absolutely quality ball if he takes a touch and crosses it Vale are likely better positioned and clear it. The guy is absolute class, 1m looking a steal now.

Beattie was the best of them all. Arguably better at left back than centre half.
That ball from Leif! on 09:44 - Oct 26 with 3136 views | DJR | The excellent thing with Davis is that he not only looks where he is passing but also has the ability to execute the pass.
That ball from Leif! on 09:46 - Oct 26 with 3109 views | Westcountryblue | I think a lot was made over the fee, but in reality WB's are probably the most important players on the pitch when used in modern systems and formations. What's great about Leif, is that he has the athleticism and technical ability to make a significant impact in forward areas, as well as being defensively solid. His corners were excellent as well last night.

For me he’s been player of the season so far. He’s not very big but gets stuck in links up very well going forward and has quality passes. I’m just hoping he’ll score soon as he deserves it.

Really important the role of Edwards in this goal, as you say a perfect weight of pass from him and he released it at the right time. I really do think players should take more care with their weight of pass rather than drilling the ball at them or playing the ball to feet rather than in to their stride. That was by far the biggest issue with Lambers team, such slow build up caused by the quality of pass!
