No, not that bad at all. It's a local company owned by a lifelong town fan too. As sponsorships go, it doesn't get much better. Perhaps could only be bettered if it were a locally based, town supporting, global megastar, but what are the chances of that happening?

Are you being ironic? on 12:50 - Aug 22 with 2280 views | unstableblue | All I see every week is new commmercial deals being signed that bring in much needed revenue At a pace and scale we’ve not experienced for a while The Sir Bobby Robson name hasn’t changed, indeed the North element seems to have been reinstated. Is there something really to be negative about? It’s the same negative rumblings to the new regime with Dyer interview, and grumbles about the handling of Simpson (where we seem to be about to get a fee?) I was one of those with major concerns about Ashton, given Bristol City and his manner, but we are going in a great direction as a club, and it’s a different structure as compared to Ashton Gate - with a football chairman and owners with footballing pedigree. Not a time for negativity in my view, doesn’t help the project!

The whole of modern day football makes me feel old, the beauty of the beautiful game has been long surpassed by money and instant success and unfortunately has turned generations of fans to expect instant success, not slating anyone its just my opinion on reflecting how football has gone since I first started watching!!

The thing about the Churchmans, is the name came from the cigarette factory behind the stand. So a company name, not even paying for the privilege and it was from the evil tobacco industry. Yet we all think of it fondly.

I don’t have a problem with Ashton (bar the little beard and cap). Ok, he’s a bit Brentspeak, but I’ve met a few over the years and they were not all wallys. I take as I find. The Bristol oddments still blame him for everything from the Ukraine war to smaller Mars bars but all I see is a third rate club safe and snug in the Championship with state of the art facilities. I’m also reassured that Ashton is a cog in the Gamechanger wheel. When talking about finance and CEOs, Mark Steed said when he was here ‘don’t p1ss on my boot and tell me it’s raining’ in front of MA. Ashton runs the club, but I have a feeling he’s in an organisation as tight as a gnats chuff. Hope so. Commercial deals being announced? Brilliant. Bring it on. What did Evans ever do apart from plaster his name over shirts and stadium for no purpose but his own promotion? Within reason who cares what the stands are called. They’ll always be North, Churchmans, Pioneer (West to my dad) and Cobbold (East or Chicken Run). I hope the stadium stays as Portman Road though. It’s interesting how deep the Bristol oddments’ hatred of MA has embedded here. I’ll still judge as I see and I agree with you. No time for negativity.

I always thought the end was when Brighton shirts were sponsored by Nobo. Not a good look when relegated. They seem to have recovered quite well though.

Don’t knock Churchmans! My dad played field hockey for them back in the day! You are right though 😃
