Chambers did well today but shouldn’t have gone to ground here. Invited the player to use that to engineer a pen decision.
The Town players went nuts at the ref and Lino but no one said anything to the Blackpool player. Diving (or exaggerating contact) seems to have become an accepted part of the game sadly. |  | | |

For what it's worth I see Kaikai made a meal of it and went down easily but I think Chambers made contact with him which is what made it a penalty. Would love to see a clearer view and better angle than shared here because I was at the other end of the ground. EDIT: Have now seen highlights from Sky and it is a clear dive doesn't look like there is any contact at all.
Overall I felt a draw was a fair result. They made better use of their chances meaning Norris made more saves. A much better game than I expected. They were humping the ball as high as they could as often they could but we got it down to play. [Post edited 23 Nov 2019 20:19]

Hard to be conclusive from that angle. If no one goes to ground there is no decision to make, especially as there appears to be no contact on the ball by the defender.

Mills said contact or not Chambers gave the ref the opportunity, he was never getting to that ball in a million years so had no reason to go to ground.

This was a poor bit of defending but clearly not a pen. 9/10 It's not a pen and this doesnt get spoken about. He's having a good season. We have some awful fans we really do. clueless. Removing the goal is a silly idea. Retrospective reds work I guess, though the player may argue they fell over or something. The decision needs to be made during the game. The annoying thing with VAR is that it was needed yesterday for that decision. Most of the times I've see it used in the PL it's been complete bollix. | |
