The Who, Wembley Stadium, Saturday 13:00 - Jul 3 with 2323 viewsitfcjoe

Anyone going?

Managed to pick up a couple of free tickets from Sky VIP competition - think it should be a good gig as never seen them before and one of the greats....

Chances of getting across to Liverpool Street for last train to Ipswich? Or drive and park close by? Any advice from regular concert goers appreciated....

Saw them at Hyde Park for my 40th (for the same reason as yours)...don't expect too much from Brexit Roger's vocals!

What time would you likely get out?

A safe bet would probably be to park at Newbury Park.

The ticket says the concert finishes at 22:30 which i think gives an hour to get out and across London

Probably best to drive if you don't plan on leaving until after as they'll hold people up at the tube.

Loughton is good also.

It’s a little further but don’t have to pay LEZ charge (if applicable).

Was surprised how cheap it was to park there all day and overnight.

Tube app saying quickest time back to Liverpool Street is 40 mins, and that’s at this time of day!

They should have later trains back to Ipswich on the weekend, maybe midnight could be the last one.

Tube will be touch and go - went to Bon Jovi a couple of weeks back with the same finish time and made it in the nick of time, but having to run across Liv St. If I was you I’d probably gamble given there is the fallback later train to Colchester and then taxi, but depends how much you want a beer or 3 really

Enjoy

Pre book your parking at Stratford International Car Park (its a 5 minute walk from the stratford train station):

https://stratfordintl.co.uk/parking

Then you only need to get the Jubille line from Stratford straight to Wembley. Coming home is a doddle as its straight down the A12.

I saw The Who many years ago. They were OK, but I won't get fooled again.

(Actually they were excellent - the original line-up)

I always do this for gigs in London. I am going on Saturday. If you have never seen them before you are in for a treat. One of the good things about being old is that I also got to see them when Keith and John were still alive.

Is that much difference to just using the car park at Westfield which isn't that expensive at weekends?

No different but there is no worry over late trains. I live at Bury so the last bit has to be by road anyway. Time just doesn't matter although I will admit the drive back is a bit tedious.

I thought you meant should as in you think there is one, not should as in why on earth don't they do it....!

There is a 12.00midnight one to Colchester, which I have had to get once and then summon the wife to pick me up.
You can imagine how delighted she was to have to do that.... I blamed my mate who told me to stay for another beer in the pub.

Went to see Fleetwood Mac at Wembley a couple of weeks back and parked in the red car park at Wembley stadium. If you can , park in the open air bit for a quicker getaway rather than the multi storey part but used it a few times and it's been pretty good.
