Random question - can you take backpacks into stadium or do you have to store them?

Thinking of doing Wolves away however just dawned on me I'd have a backpack on me.

Thanks in advance!

We're going to need to know the contents of said bag before giving further advice.

Generally ok I think, I took a rucksack into Molyneux a couple of seasons back without any problems.

That was before the Ariana Grande disaster though.... I think security at games has tightened up since then.

I'm sure at PR you can only take a handbag / small bag in, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same at other grounds.

If in doubt, it's worth the OP contacting Wolves directly to find out.

I would be amazed if anyone could smuggle anything past the thorough searches our stewards carry out.

Some Moron had left a bag on the floor at the Forest game that people were stepping over, i plonked right next to it and for the next few minutes was more worried about said bag and blowing up than the game. After a while a guy a few rows back braved it and asked around "is that your bag?" no response so wandered off with it.

30 seconds later guy right in front of me turns around and says wheres my mates bad, hes in the concourse. Absolote T**t.

There's no problem taking a rucksack into Portman Road, I do so virtually every game. Never had a problem at an away ground either.

I bet Bloots will downarrow this.

I will be taking one with me on Saturday.

It will most likely be a Paw Patrol one and full of toddler stuff.

I doubt I will get many problems with it.

I'd be VERY suspicious of an unaccompanied man with a bag full of toddler toys going into a football stadium...

You're right. Anybody in this day and age who wanders off with an unattended bag is a complete idiot.

I've had my rucksack checked for most home games this season whilst going into the CO-OP stand. Depends on the steward as to how thorough the check is....sometimes they don't bother checking it at all, sometimes they ask me to undo the top and they scan it, for one game earlier in the season he said the bag was too large (it's a day sack type ruck sack) and for future games I need to bring a smaller one....ignored this of course and it hasn't been mentioned since!

There's new signs up this season saying that they aren't allowed, not sure how strictly they are enforcing it

These are their ground regulations

https://www.wolves.co.uk/club/policies/ground-regulations/#

And these are the prohibited items listed in the ground regs

7 The following articles must not be brought within the Ground - knives, fireworks, smoke canisters, air-horns, flares, weapons, dangerous or hazardous items, laser devices, bottles, glass vessels, cans, poles and any article that might be used as a weapon and/or compromise public safety. Any person in possession of such items will be refused entry to the Ground.

So provided they follow their own rules a backpack should be fine

They're not enforcing it at all, as I've stated.

Against Forest the bloke asked me if I had an aerosol can in there. I said no, and he just took my word for it.

I have only ever had my rucksack checked once at PR.

I asked the woman what she was looking for and she said "fireworks and flares".

I asked if, as a middle aged woman, I looked like I would be carrying those sort of things. She told me they had to do random searches.

The next half a dozen people to go through that turnstile were young men all with bags. Not one of them were searched!
