Dane Scarlett on 20:13 - May 2 with 2784 views | FrimleyBlue | Nah. Pompy ruined what he had. He also beefed up. Slowed down even further. Was just thinking about ahadme tho. Probably will get sold but if not. He's played what 3 games for town and gone from league 1 to prem.

Dane Scarlett on 20:13 - May 2 with 2798 views | gainsboroughblue | Through no fault of his own, he really has lost a season of development time. Felt for him really.

Dane Scarlett on 21:18 - May 2 with 2390 views | ReusersTown | Thinking longer term as a development player now why not. At say 2-3mill, would be pocket money for us if we make it and I still think he has a good amount of upside, only 20 recently.

Is that a Prem rule? 2 in the squad altogether or 2 in a match day (not that we would want to use up an extra squad place if only 2 can be selected anyway)?

Was thinking as a purchase rather than loan.
Dane Scarlett on 21:49 - May 2 with 2086 views | Radlett_blue | Scarlett has 2 years left on his Spurs contract so I reckon they'll be looking to loan him out again next season. But this season has been a complete bust in terms of his development . If we're in the PL, we need better than him & if we stay down, he won't be ahead of Hirst or Al-Hamadi.

I just don't think he has the work rate, or perhaps fitness, to play anything like the role we expect from our forward players. He seemed really sluggish on the press when we didn't have the ball, and tried too much when he had the ball. The work rate issue, especially when compared to Omari and Sarmiento (as other young loanees), was pretty stark. So, its a no from me! [Post edited 2 May 22:09]

Dane Scarlett on 22:27 - May 2 with 1833 views | Vaughan8 | I'd say no chance. Not sure if he's injured (can't see that he is) but doesn't even get on Spurs' bench tonight. Not sure if he didn't fit our style, or its something else, but McKenna didn't give him many minutes. We need players who are going to be better than our current ones, and he's not, at the moment anyway.

Think of the partnership with Davis though. Getting on the end of those crosses. (Sorry)

Mate told me tonight that if we get promoted then Sarmiento is automatically here for another season. This true?

Yeah, the loan was a second year option on promotion. Both quality players and would love to see them here next year - wouldnt surprise me if both are possibly made permanent though. A lot of traffic at Chelsea for Hutch, and although he has been quality for us, not sure I'd say he has done enough to be in first team reckoning at Chelsea yet - so we might get a good deal with a first option possibly. Same for Sarmiento maybe, which would allow us to then go and get two more top quality loans if required
Dane Scarlett on 01:30 - May 3 with 1465 views | Westcountryblue | Maybe, if we were to take ownership and then loan him out. He'd be a total punt though. I think he's a bit of Troy Parrott Mk2. Plenty of hype, but ultimately a player that is neither a 10 nor an out and out striker, that doesn't net enough to justify playing in the top 2 leagues in this country. '''If'''we go up, we should be setting our sights a lot higher....Harwood-Bellis, Delap, Downes, Carvalho etc... [Post edited 3 May 1:33]

Spurs totally messed up with Scarlett. They loaned him out way too late then took him back early when he would have got a chance. I don't know what these Premier League sides are thinking, we aren't just going to give loans minutes as a favour to the loaning club. When you are fighting for automatic promotion, you can't afford any passengers. I think under the right circumstances Scarlett would have been successful. He looked like he was doing better towards the end.
