Worst ever loan signing 16:29 - Feb 27 with 5698 views | Dubtractor | As an alternative to the best loanee thread, how about a worst loanee? Two stand out for me. Tony Dinning Danny Karbassiyoon Both utterly hopeless Who is your pick?

Tom Carson indeed, one appearance and honestly think Bluey or Crazee in goal would have been an improvement.

Worst ever loan signing on 17:10 - Feb 27 by wkj | There was a player in the Burley pre-promotion years who I can't remember if they were a loan or a short term contract. Either way, they were awful and the players actively avoided passing the ball to him, my mind says Abou - but that probably is just because we always sounded like we were booing him that it gets muddled in to the thought process. Haha Abou! God yeah he looked like a prize winner, I think we loaned him from West Ham

For that miss alone - Marlon Harewood. Dreadful.

Worst ever loan signing on 17:11 - Feb 27 by BlueBadger | Nearly any one of Lambert's Loans would have a strong case to argue but Josh Harrop is surely the nadir? |
Harrop was pure dog dirt. Schooled at Manure too I believe.

You could probably make an XI of terrible Man U loans alone - anyone remember Michael Clegg? I remember he'd had a piece in the 442(It think) 'boy's a bit special' feature where they talked to upcoming young players and I was quite excited to see him turn up. And then I actually saw him play. Embarrassingly bad. Like, Drissa Diallo vs Etherington bad.

This would probably be my top 3 too, but in the spirit of wanting to add a new candidate into the mix, how about Marlon Harewood and that miss v Oxford. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Worst ever loan signing on 17:08 - Feb 27 by Steve_M | And yet he scored goals and won us matches. HE was sh1te but there's a whole tier of player who never got close to that level. |
Tony Dinning wasn't our finest hour. (Attempting to respect the newly-imposed no-Mark-Fish clause).

Abou scored a goal at Bramhall Lane, which in the 90s should be taken as mitigating any assessment of that loan (we won 2-1 with a last minute goal but think he scored the first).

Yep, we signed him. Discounted. You’ll have to submit the Touremeister in the ‘truly cr@p signings’ awards list.

I think Touré would win the award for 'Most likable player unfit to play for the club at the time of signing'. He did some truly awful things on the pitch, but his embarrassed smile and wave after his corner and celebrating the way he did in the cup will always leave me fondly remembering him.

Worst ever loan signing on 18:43 - Feb 27 with 1102 views | Superblue95 | Can only assume most have forgotten Darren O’Dea. Probably not the worst but should certainly be in the conversation. Not quite a full back, not quite a centre half. Could barely win a header whatever he was.

Doncaster (a) in early League Cup round - threw his shirt into the away end at 90 minutes - not realising their was extra-time and had to ask for it back? (Didz McGoaldrick then came on in E.T. and ran the show)

Not only was he useless, that we were taking Preston cast offs on loan really hammered home how far we had fallen. It was when we signed Harrop that I realised that league one might not just be a temporary blip and a chance to rebuild, but was in fact where we wre doomed to be. Thank feck for GameChanger.
