I suppose if everything goes to plan we'll be filling a similar spot in the Prem in a few years time. Top half, playing nice football, punching above our weight due to our scouting and ability to spot a player and the club being managed well from top to bottom.

The challenge that would bring though is the ability to keep hold of McKenna, the better we do the more bigger clubs will start sniffing around.

If we can reach the top half of the PL playing good football and only then have to worry about losing McKenna, I’ll be amazed. It’s losing him if we’re playing good football in the top half of the Championship I’m more worried about.

Is a horrible thought - suppose the consolation would be it’s because we’ve reached even higher heights than we are now (hopefully) and we’ve a good number of more than capable candidates to choose from

I guess Brighton losing Potter is worth remembering.
Like Sitters not sure how I’d cope if KM went.

Yeah for sure, when he leaves it’ll be for the right reasons and with everyone blessing.

He’s got to get us to the Prem before he can leave though

Hopefully he looks at Potter and Graham Jones who both left plum jobs where they were working wonders and both got eaten up and spat out by bigger clubs who same calling and realises the grass is greener. Compare the stock both of them had this time last year compared to now, I bet both of them would have stayed with Brighton and Luton if they knew how it would have turned out.

We should take a leaf out of Burnley's book and offer McKenna a long-term contract, Kompany has just been given a new 4 year deal.

Definitely, McKenna has his head screwed on and doubt he’d leave willy nilly.

Will be shocked if he doesn’t get an extension over the summer.

Have Crystal Place said who'll be their manager next season? (I bet quite a few of their fans would say it should be Patrick Vieira.)

Yep… however, I’m excited at the same time as to who MA would have lined up.

Regardless of how things are going at Town for KM, I’m sure MA secretly has a list of potential replacements if they were needed to be called upon.

And, this might be naive of me to think, but I reckon if KM were to be nicked away from us he’d even speak with MA and advise on replacements. He’s just a good guy

I think KM goes to the Prem next as he will see us as his perfect vehicle to get there next season (or with us).

MA has a list of replacements for everyone, and as much as we adore him there will come a time soon when we lose him. The thing is we can be confident who replaces him will "fit".

I’m considering going full on Kathy Bates Misery when the day comes.

The trick will be Ashton and co having the next Kieran McKenna lined up for when he does leave.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?
