I wondered where Broadhead was in our list of all time highest fees paid and stumbled on this. Some of those in our top 20 were shockers!

Still sounds cheap haha

In the modern era our buying has been pretty bad.

Not many clubs top 5 will be from 20 years ago! Also I thought Emyr Huws was free?

Pretty sure we paid a fee which MM made out to be massive at the time, like several million and then it turned out later on it was a much less significant one.

Fee was just under a million from memory. His wage on a four year contract means we probably wasted about 4m overall on him!

I thought he was too. It's probably top-ups: Medical fees and ambulances and stuff.

Think I am on the money when we sold Brian Talbot to Arsenal for £750,000 and bought Muhren and Thyssen for £650,000. Two thoroughbreds for one cart horse that was a Suffolk Punch alright.

We sold Talbot for £450,000 and I think we got both Dutchmen for about the same price.

Think fee was about £250k, club were quite happy to allow people to think it was more but Mick (as with the bargain Garner and Waghorn transfers) made sure on his way out that score was settled

What a state the game is in, when a half season loan, costs more than double our record transfer fee.

Mick told eadt that Huws was 200K. Waghorn was only 250k. As for Garner, it was reported as 750k
By then, Evans was not spending big as we know. But in Keane first summer, he spent 2.65m on leadbitter, 1.35m on edwards, 1.7m on prison, 1.6m on martin and 600k on delaney, maybe 50k on healy making around 8m on back of 2.25m on norris the previous January

He played a few and then got that big injury, he did make a brief return before getting another injury!

My favourite part of that list is on page 3 or 4, John Wark sitting nicely below Andy Drury.

Joe Broadfoot 63/64 £182,000. Really?

I think Paz was reported at the time as being around £1M but it later turned out he was more like £250K?
