3 more days of lockdown... 08:02 - Mar 26 with 2872 viewsbluelagos

So frrom Monday the "stay at home" laws no longer apply. So anyone can leave their homes without fear of a fine.

Still have a legal outdoors max of 6 rule and of course pubs/shops still shut.

So what are you upto next week? Going to visit my Dad for a garden chat. Not too far (35 mins) but I know the 'stay local' guidelines will be interpreted differntly.

Any much needed plans/reunions about to be enjoyed?

If there is any half decent weather we hope to meet up with the in-laws out in the garden, we have seen them a very few times when delivering shopping. As we met up every home game post covid we have missed this. It also means groups of 6 cyclist can go out together.

That's a good thing to do Lagos.

Yep, def spending time catching up with parents and wider family.

Bit of coaching kids football locally, bit of golf and catching up with friends again.

Yep, guidance from the FA allows grassroots back.

First fixture 11th April.

Most of the girls haven't kicked a ball for 3 months, going to be very interesting!

From the beeb website:

People will be allowed to meet outside, either with one other household or within the "rule of six", including in private gardens

The stay at home rule will end, but the government will urge people to stay local as much as possible

Outdoor sport facilities will reopen, including golf courses and tennis and basketball courts, and formally organised outdoor sports can restart

Weddings can take place, attended by up to six people

I’m on leave next week but not really sure driving 2 1/2 hours to Woodbridge to visit parents garden is in the spirit of staying local!

I might visit one of the more local nature reserves for some bird watching.

Our hockey restarts on Wednesday night and we have games starting from next Saturday ( mostly inter club games, friendlies with local clubs start on the 17th ).

Stay local is relaxed too from Monday. Recommended not enforced.

Parents in law are popping up from their home in Brighton to their house up here.

...tidying the garden in preparation for an Easter weekend of getting hammered in the garden with a couple of mates.

Thursday night hopefully and then a Leo Sayer on Saturday.

Although the weather doesn't look too clever, so I expect the wood burner will get some use.

We are meeting with two sets of friends on Monday afternoon to enjoy tea, sandwiches, scones and Simnel cake on the patio. Weather forecast looks good.

And then formally organised sporting activity on Wednesday morning.

That said, I do generally enjoy the world being a quieter, nicer place.

I've got a pheasant seems to have made himself a home on a bit of grass opposite my home. Never seen one before on that spot, but seen this guy 3 times this week.

Presume it's the same guy. Was giving it a full wing flutter early this morning.

I will miss lockdown a bit. First one, the peace and quiet even on an estate, the lack of idiots you 'have' to mix with, the lack of any BS, ie needless shopping trips, some reading, lots of DIY, garage clean, some telly, few drinks, just the wife to deal with, still worked, which is probably why i was quite happy. Oh well, let the insanity begin again..

I am still too scared to do much, despite my vaccine last Saturday, as I will not be protected for another couple of weeks.

My Dad will pop round (with my Mum hopefully, if she feels strong enough after her fall a couple of weeks back) to swap Easter Eggs. My husband is popping to his Mum's to swap Easter stuff and to deliver her 70th birthday stuff.

Other than that, the usual 4 walls and awful trip to town Thursday for me.

I mean, I quite like her and all that, but there's only so much you can take.

Going to the seaside. I miss the seaside.

Plus driving down from Suffolk to meet up with Child1 in North London. Not exactly local, but will be just walking round Walthamstow Marshes, so I don't see an issue.

I'm going to have a massive* all night** rave*** in the garden. It'll be the event of the year****.

* 6 people or fewer.
** prob finish about 9pm, too old for a proper late night.
*** actually a small gathering with quiet background music.
**** sadly probably will be.

Local is only guidance. From Monday there will be no legal way to stop you doing that, if that’s what you want to do.
