LNER Stadium 10:08 - Dec 10 with 2050 viewsbobwya

Town will be one of the first to play at this newly named ground - otherwise known as Sincil Bank. More and more clubs seem to be negotiating naminvg rights with sponsors but no sign of that happening at PR

The Greater Anglia Stadium kind of works for me.

Or if we could get a celebrity endorsement I would like Natalie Portman Road.

I often feel a little conflicted about this.

On one hand, our home will always be Portman Road.

But, then again, if it was renamed the Greene King Stadium (for instance), I'd still call it Portman Road, so it would't affect me...

I suppose I might think differently if it was a negative brand, like a betting company. The "Magical Vegas Stadium" anyone?

And hopefully stays that way. Looking at clubs like Bolton and Huddersfield who seem to change every other year, i don't even remember their old school names.

Poll: An interesting day for our politicians, but which one is worse?

The ground nearly became the TXU Energi Stadium in the early 2000s, would have done but for their travails. Club has been up for stadium sponsorship for years but no one has offered enough to make it worth while.

So they have not yet accepted your offer for it to be The TWTD Stadium?

I believe I made an offer in my column in the Star around that time but I'm still waiting to hear back.

I think there's a difference with the likes of Bolton and Huddersfield. Their stadiums are new(ish) so don't have old school names (The Reebok and The McAlpine was what they were originally called). I suspect that puts down the price that a sponsor would be prepared to pay for naming rights for us - people would still refer to it as Portman Road, just as Lincoln fans will still refer to Sincil Bank. Which is a good thing.

Just one small problem; sell their houses to who, Ben? Fcking Aquaman?

The Greater Anglia stadium where fans need to leave evening games early to catch the last train?

But good idea and extra income.

Greater Anglia don't perform

Putting the abject state of the rail company to one side, heaven knows I have had enough run ins with them, I just like the name and the idea that Greater Anglia is in Ipswich, as opposed to, say, Lesser Anglia, which they can reserve for the former Carrow Road.

Was TXU the new name for Powergen? Or was it the other way round?

I so wish the latter had kept their Italian subsidiary's web address: www.powergenitalia.com
