For those who have done them, in which subject(s) were your degree(s)? on 21:40 - Jan 30 with 4610 views | Melford | I did 2 years of a Primary Education BA (Hons) course but I wasn't cut out to be a teacher. I wanted to change to a History degree, but Uni I was at would only enrol me on a Combined Honours course which was like glorified A Levels to me. Did a year of that and got politely asked to leave.

Not got a University degree, as such, didn,t have the wonderful opportunities that are available now back in the day, but did a National Diploma in horticulture at a renowned college of the time, that i was reliably informed recently, would be on a par with a degree nowadays. Been in the horticultural world in its many different guises ever since (40 years.

If it's anything like my day (mid to late 2000's), year 1 was to ease you in. I spent more time getting drunk, playing lots of football and nailing lots of posh totty than I did studying. It was the final year that it step changed. Couldn't wait to get out of there and into work by the end. Glad you're enjoying it, that's what life is for.

For those who have done them, in which subject(s) were your degree(s)? on 22:18 - Jan 30 with 4484 views | Ryorry | BA (hons) (Open) Courses mainly in literature, but also did philosophy and technology foundation course. The last was to learn to use a computer (this was 1994) but in the process, discovered a totally unexpected fascination with engineering, esp energy generation. My life might have been totally different if my school (which I left at 15 with 3 'O' levels in Eng Lang, History & Art after they told me I wasn't "university material") had managed to actually engage me in the same way as the OU, which I took to like a duck to water & got a first with.

I think that is admirable. But I think you can do more. Sell all your mobile and computer equipment, and stop using things developed by university types, like the internet, and instead use all that money for the wider benefit of society or charity. It will be a difficult loss for TWTD, but we will admire your contribution.
