Sorry to hear that.

Keep your friends and family close.

Ignore the people who tell you to have a beer today.

Buy something special (like a painting or something she would have liked) when you feel ready. it can be a nice reminder.

And look after yourself.

All the best.

Sorry to hear that, had to say bye to my Dad a few months ago so I know how hard it is. All the best to you, I hope she got a good send off.

Its tough mate, I went through it several years ago. Great advice to buy something she would have liked, to remind you of her in the future.

It does get easier over time.

Very sad news, sorry to hear that.

We all deal with grief differently, so just do what seems natural. Sometimes it won't hit you for months. Often you have to be strong for those around you and delay your reaction but even talking on a forum can be a real help.

Celebrate her life and remember her fondly.

Oh dear, sorry about that.

I suppose funerals are as good or bad as the circumstances that led you to it. I was lucky with my Dad as he had been very ill and it was a release for everyone including himself. Also he had time to come to terms with dying and we had the opportunity to say goodbye over a few months and chit chat about life in general. He was also a fun loving man so for the funeral we had a party with a hog roast and a jazz band, actually it was one of the best days I've ever had - although that might seem strange.

Anyhoo I'm rambling, sorry. Deepest sympathies and I hope you cope as well as you can.

Sorry to hear that. No idea how it must feel.

I'm starting to realise more and more recently that my parents are no longer what I would call 'middle aged' and that it's not going to be a million years until I might have to face that. I actually got quite emotional thinking about it the other day.

Sorry to hear that. If it is any consolation, that's as bad as it gets.

I lost my mum when I was 17. Never forgotten how terrible that was, never forgotten her. A boy is always close to their mum, whether they know it or not.

But she'll always be there in your memories. Just remember the good times, bud.

So sorry to hear that, mate. My mum died this time last year, its truly devastating.

I just got a letter in the post today actually, inviting me to receive an award on her behalf for her organ donations. It's of some comfort to know that she literally saved one mans life, and helped half a dozen more. I'll be an utter mess but so proud going up to collect it at the ceremony.

All the best to you and your family, you're in my thoughts.

Am sorry to read. In November this year it'll be 4 years since I lost my Mum.

Toughest experience of my life, only child too as I am.

Still, literally, to this day struggle. Miss her so much.

Thoughts with you.
