It was my mum's funeral today. on 16:41 - Aug 4 by Lord_Lucan | Oh dear, sorry about that. I suppose funerals are as good or bad as the circumstances that led you to it. I was lucky with my Dad as he had been very ill and it was a release for everyone including himself. Also he had time to come to terms with dying and we had the opportunity to say goodbye over a few months and chit chat about life in general. He was also a fun loving man so for the funeral we had a party with a hog roast and a jazz band, actually it was one of the best days I've ever had - although that might seem strange. Anyhoo I'm rambling, sorry. Deepest sympathies and I hope you cope as well as you can. |
In hindsight it was perfect really. Had enough time to come to terms with it and have some quality time, but not so long he had to suffer for ages. A lot of people have it a lot worse than that. Was also a hell of a send off! | |
