You sort of want to warn Salford but as the owners are ex-Manure I'm thinking that if they don't already know of the health warning then it's their own fault.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

I don't like the whole Man U connection there anyway. So they are welcome to him.

But what a blow to learn that he's actually second favourite after play-nowhere, no-nothing Danny Cowley!

They’ve dodged that bullet. I’m sure they’re glad but interested to see how Scholes gets on

Would be a bit odd being employed by your former team mates.

I wonder which one of them would get to tell him he's fired when it all goes wrong..!

Salford will have the most impressive set of forearms in the football league.

LOL no. I'd almost rather Lambert stayed than Hoofer Cowley.

/edit - also, top self awareness here for wanting Danny The Lumper whilst also going 'boooo Mick'.

I can't believe any club would be stupid enough to fall for that.

As amusing as Keane there would have been I suspect Scholes will not be any better.

The money has pretty much taken them as far as that level of investment is likely to take them. Now it would take an effective business model, highly effective tactics or further investment beyond what I would expect the Class of 92 to put in.

And you will still get Scholes' ex-team mates having to call him in to give him the bad news at some point. Although they may be happier to do that than to Keane.

They're half owned by Peter Lim, the billionaire who also owns Valencia. They've definitely got enough money to bankroll a push to the Championship at least, should he so wish.

I didn't realise that.

Will be interesting how they get around the salary cap if they make it to this level.
