Back to basics now? 08:50 - Dec 11 with 770 viewswrightsrightglove

For me:

----------------------------Holy
Donacien- Woolfenden-- Chambo --Garbutt
Edwards --------Skuse -----Downes ----Rowe
------------------Norwood ---Jackson

Stick with that team for the next 3 / 4 games and get some consistency going, that team should be more than capable of winning games in this league. The players just look all over the place at the moment.

I would say even longer than 3 / 4 games.

Need to find a team that will see us through until the end now with changes only coming from injuries/niggles.

We're in the leasing Cup which we know will be kids club.

I'd say :

Holy
Donacien - Woolfy - Chambo - Garbutt
Edwards --- Nolan ---- Downes ---- Rowe
------------- Norwood --- Keane -----------

So we never play Judge, Wilson, Huws, Nolan, Jackson? That's a lot of talent and flexibility exiled from the team.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

I still can't see how Norwood is being favoured over Jackson. Even though we're missing goals from both, Jackson seems to be much less wasteful.

- Garbutt clearly isn't a LB but we might not have much choice.
- Edwards offers little to nothing.
- Rowe offers little to nothing.
- Skuse/Downes is solid but nothing is going to feed the attack especially with those wingers.
- Debatable if Norwood should even be starting.

So I don't really agree with your team. I am not entirely sure what to do as PL has messed about so much but I think perhaps going for the formation from the first half at Coventry from Saturday and refining that is the best way forward.

I would go as far as to say that Rowe and Edwards shouldn't start for us again. They don't offer much now and they will offer nothing in the Championship. Get minutes in the bag for Mizuni and Dobra - they offer just as much and have more potential for next year.

Remember Aug and Sept when we scoring loads of goals and winning all the time? Chambers played, Woolf, played, Skuse played, Jackson played, Norwood played, Downes played, Holy played, Garbutt played. Those are the guys.

I want a left back, wide midfielder, and a forward in Jan.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Last night showed us which of the two is more of an all round striker. That was Norwood, even though he wasn't great and gave away too many fouls.

So you are making your decision on a sample size of 1 where Norwood happened to play better?

That's not how to do an analysis.

Was meant to put Nolan in for Skuse actually.

I think the rest are bench players though yes.

Rowe's injured and I got the impression it might be a few weeks before he returns, although no confirmation of that.

I wonder whether what's seen as the 'core' of the team might be changing. Thought it was interesting that the side on Saturday was essentially the team from the first Coventry FA Cup tie and but for Rowe's injury might well have been unchanged from that match.

We kept the ball much better in the two games at St Andrew's with a midfield of Downes, Dozzell and Nolan and with Keane providing the fulcrum up front. Wouldn't be surprised - particularly as PL was so reluctant to use them last night - if the team on Saturday isn't too far off the one from last Saturday. The first half display was the best for a while, if not all season, and we had five decent chances, even if only one was put away.

Get Edwards straight out of there.

Certainly not, I would have said that before last night. But it was a good example of things Norwood can do that Jackson can't.
