Diamond or a straight 4-4-2? Strong enough squad and bench.

Stronger than I expected and look at the bench, are we now trying to win this? 😁👍

Can't be a diamond with wingers mate surely?

Pleased to see Emyr get games, but hope this means Keane and Dozzell are in the plans for the weekend

4-4-2 then.

Holy
Cotter - Woolfenden - Nsiala - Kenlock
Edwards - Skuse - Huws - Judge
Norwood - Jackson

Quite a strong team to be fair, though the penetration down the flanks looks suspect as always. Good bench as well.

What does this mean for Saturday? No doubt Norris, Donacien, Wilson/Chambers and Garbutt will replace Holy, Cotter, Kenlock and Nsiala. Downes replaces Huws; could return to a 4-4-3 with Nolan for Edwards?

How is our club ever supposed to develop any sort of consistency or team pattern if he makes 9 changes every single game.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

I wished they had posted it in some kind of formation order!

Still, a very good team. Jackson is certainly getting some limes under his belt.

COYB!

Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me. Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing. Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial. Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid. Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

My old manager would list lineups alphabetically so oppo wouldn’t be able to assume formation

I hope we play 4-4-3, should be a real advantage.

The fact they have been nigh on full strength each time means we really need to beat them tonight. If they really don't have that bigger squad with such little quality beyond a handful of players then finally getting a win is a huge boost.

It just seems mad to me. And I think that's a good team, apart from the full backs. And Judge. And Edwards.

I appreciate "things are different now" but the only time we have ever had success as a club is when we have had a team you me and everyone else could pretty much guess before we got to the ground. All informed comment on here revolves around our team looking disorganised and unfamiliar with one another, and relying on the odd moment of quality. I don't think it's sustainable.

I do think the leasing.com trophy is a collosall waste of time and energy. That's really cluttered up the fixture list. I broadly agree with you on the rotation although, depsite what Lambert says, there is clearly a core of players he uses for league games.

Edwards may be a winger, but I don't really classify Judge as one. Hence wondering if they were more sort of wide midfielders in a diamond, with Skuse deep and Huws advanced.

Good to see you and Senior on Saturday,

I hope it isn't another Southampton replay job where the manager feels pressured to put a stronger side out and his best player gets injured

No side featuring Nsiala could be described as 'stronger'.
