Waaaah waaaah 20:05 - Nov 11 with 3633 views | Bobbychase | Why didn't we play a stronger side against Lincoln so we could earn a plum draw against Coventry away, which if we'd won we could still draw another L1 club in the third round.

A tonne of bitching and moaning because we didn't beat Lincoln and put ourselves in the draw outright, and now I'm seeing people saying how underwhelming the draw is. It's the second round of the FA Cup. Were people expecting Man City away? And guess what. We could beat Lincoln, then Coventry, and STILL get Reading away or some other dull tie in the third round. I'm bored of our poor cup record in recent years but the way people were reacting on Saturday was like we'd passed up the chance of a plum tie. Tonight was always going to be a 'meh' moment

You might have a teeny tiny point if there had been widespread moaning about the draw. However, as there hasn't........

Three comments from the news section already Was really hoping for a good non league tie v Maldon and Tiptree, but this has to be the most boring of FA Cup ties. Forget the Lincoln replay, let's just boss the league and get the most likely (and welcome) piece of silverware this season. Not a great draw - I hate going to St Andrews, saw us win 3-0 there many years ago, but it's been miserable there mostly. And that's assuming we get past Lincoln. Couldn't be much worse. Tough game, low crowd.

Yeah, damn people for not having a crystal ball and foreseeing who we would draw! Actually, forget that, you've got a complete moot point anyway. I don't think any was salivating at the prospect of round 2, but more the prospect of rounds, 4, 5 or 6 etc. Which are obviously only achievable by getting through the rounds that precede them. You're talking guff.

You don't need a crystal ball to foresee a rubbish draw in the second round of the FA Cup. You need common sense. Which is often lacking these days I find. Salivating at the thought of round 4, 5 and 6? Here's what happens every fecking year. We get excited on third round day and then get sent to places like Accrington where we lose. Now we're having to battle through rounds one and two just to get to that stage. I've been following this club since 1988, I'm not some recent convert to football who thinks the FA Cup is old hat, but I fail to see the meltdown over not beating Lincoln on Saturday when promotion is the only priority this season. We've actually got a realistic chance of getting to Wembley in the Leasing thing. We should be excited about that

Yeah, can't argue with that. But when they are the same people who were throwing their toys out of the pram over the strength of the team put out to face Lincoln well.....needs calling out.
