To be fair, we are perfectly capable of losing to all of them. Whether intended or not, we do seem to have the (on paper at least) an easier draw.
That England are still here when the Netherlands and Italy did not even get on the plane and Germany, Spain, Argentina and Portugal have been sent packing is most enjoyable.

Nobody seems to learn do they?
Iceland were not easy - they got there because they were better than the teams they beat to get there and they were too much for us.
People rightly seem to recognise that Colombia are likely to be too much for England.
What I don't get is the idea the other less fashionable teams have got to the last 16 somehow other than by being better than Germany, Italy, Holland, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, etc. They won't be easier to beat just because they are not wearing those countries' shirts. In many respects it has been a World Cup where no one team has stood out but that includes England and any suggestions we have gone from a team that will do well to get beyond the last 16 to potential World Cup winners are crass. |  |

There's absolutely no reason why we can't beat Colombia. We need to recognise that they are extremely dangerous opposition, and take moves to counter that but they should be just as cautious of us. I'm sure they aren't that pleased with the draw, and we should take heart from that.
If we play to our best then we can do it. Any less than that and we will might be in trouble. This England team seems to have a confidence in themselves that has been missing in previous tournaments. Hopefully that'll assist them. |  |
