Anyone else fallen into the trap yet? 11:12 - Jun 4 with 4117 views | wkj | Every time it comes around, I tell myself I aint bothered with it. But by the time I enter my first sweepstakes I am on the verge of draping an England flag on my window (or Iran this year, that'll go down well in the Village) #ComeOnEngland [Post edited 4 Jun 2018 11:13]

Anyone else fallen into the trap yet? on 11:15 - Jun 4 with 4095 views | Lord_Lucan | I haven't had any interest in recent world cups but this one is a bit different for me. We seem to have a manager that is picking youngsters and players on form. No more Rooney, Terry et al. No doubt we will fail but it's a bit more interesting. Go Gareth!

Anyone else fallen into the trap yet? on 11:17 - Jun 4 with 4063 views | J2BLUE | I've always been bothered by the big tournaments. I can't stand friendlies or qualifiers against teams we should steamroll but the big tournaments are special.

South Korea and Japan was the most exciting for me in recent years as I thought it was really neat being able to go for a pint at that time of the day and sleep all afternoon, with valid reason to do so.

It's actually quite refreshing to not have this "could be our year" malarky, , think most people appreciate we are nowhere near good enough to win it, which makes it a little more exciting to see how we do without the pressure, whilst being under the radar.

Was that the tourney where SK knocked seven bells out of the Italians?

I'll always support England albeit no interest in friendlies and not much more in qualifiers. I agree on Southgate, I am pleased with him. The England team doesn't need a normal top manager. They can't buy players and they don't do a lot of training. We need someone to lead the team and handle the media and someone that has been there and done it so can relate to the players. Southgate is intelligent and well balanced. I love the fact thatvwr are putting together a young team and players are starting to get a look in from other clubs. Since sven and paying for Wembley the national team completely forgot to be about football. It is finally recovering.

Is that what you say when you watch men getting sweaty, whilst grappling with eachother in lycra?

Yeah i agree with that. Not picking players in form as cost us massively in the past IMO. I can't disagree with this England squad, sadly it ins't quite good enough IMO.

Agree on Southgate. Unfortunately he’ll probably receive the usual treatment from the media when it all goes tits up. Roy started the process of bringing down the age of the squad though. He did a good job in that respect after the capello era.

We just need to replace Sterling with a player who can find the net
