Maybe it's more of a suggestion for Mick to do a saviours job at WBA. However, a rescue job in The Premiership is a totally different ball-game to The Championship.

I'd get a tenner on him now as our next manager before the odds shorten! All the pieces are falling into place now - expect him to be in charge either at Brentford or Barnsley :-)

Mick that WBA job is perfect for him! Nice little budget they will have compared to what he done with our budget..

Can't help feeling like he's hit the jackpot here. He'll have been paid off and he avoids a relegation on his CV. He's probably feeling pretty smug.

WBA all but down but Mick goes in, gets to know players and readies them for Chsmpionship next season. Makes sense although don’t know if stint at rivals Wolves would rule him out?

Pardew leaves..off u go Mick on 12:03 - Apr 2 with 2243 views | HennikerBlu | It was reported about a week ago WBA had to arrange an overdraft to pay the players. Financial issues coupled with a poor performing team. They would be mad not to offer Mick a gig. This is what he is good at. Wolves and WBA are arch rivals, so that could be an issue. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

He'd have 5/6 games remaining of the season to pull the biggest rabbit out of a Top Hat. He'd have to win every single game & I don't think he's got that in him. The gritty hard fought draws would be no use to anyone - and I don't think the WBA fans would be too impressed if he already arrived with a defeatest attitude to simply be resigned to relegation / building for life in Championship......when it's still mathematically possible to stay up. Certainly is a different task in the Prem. Imagine supposing that adding your Skuse/Hyam/Sears equivalents to your midfield would stem the tide of DeBruyne / Sane / Eriksen / Salah. Pardew had them looking a bit better with some slightly more attacking play, but their deficiencies are unlikely to yield to the wiles of far more attack-minded managers than Mick. Bear in mind that, from where they sit, holding onto the point you start with is of no use. Would Mick, apart from possibly being a cheap option, take them back up? Doesn't seem very likely to me. The other two that come down would be in a far stronger place - not to mention the two or three current Championship sides who won't be going up.

Plus, how much compensation would Evans be able to pocket. I don’t think we want Pardew here. It’d be like having Mick but with the personality removed.
