Impressive rendition from the North Stand in the 2nd half. First time i've heard that from my vantage point in SAR lower. More of the same tuesday. Always thought it should be sung more over the years, as it's unique to Ipswich, but for some reason it seems it never really caught on. My lad asked me what the words were when he was driving us back from MK last weekend, so belted it out for him. Decent, he said and wondered why it's not sung more often. COYFB.
We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub.

We started that, felt good to be singing it. Doesn’t get enough air time.
Glad you heard it from SAL.
It was great.... need to do it more and make it a staple for the era.... BTW, I still remember the B side .. Ipswich football calypso....( where else is fatigue rhymed wit league?!)

Now that is a banger. I’d love to be able to sing that at a game but doubt many would know haha.
Agree one or two of us oldies have tried to start it up before but it just has not happened . Yesterday was great and it should be sung at least once every home game for me . A great big well done for whoever started yesterday .

It's been something I've wanted for years. The only fear is they make it "goal music" or something - maybe over the tannoy to get the crowd started pre/post match but it's better when fans get it going.

Would be great for them to start playing it on the loudspeaker too to get it going more. Potentially after games or ditching nananan Ipswich for it.
i once tried to get involved with the pre match music, even suggesting a mobile disco set up under the North Stand to pull in the punters early, sell more beer etc (this was around 06/7), play the stuff to rev up the fans, but got shot down because of song performance rights, music licence etc. The 'Hey Jude' thing is done, so is 'Sweet caroline' for that matter, but 'Edward' has to worth a go. As does Red Flags 'Blitzgrieg Bop', but 'Auschwitz to Ipswich' might be a bit slow!
