Barry Cotter has left Town after being told he would not be offered a new contract at the end of the season.

The Club thanks Barry for his efforts while at Portman Road, and wishes him the very best of luck for the future.

Mick may have had a decent record in the transfer market overall, but his LOI punts were not that successful it must be said.

Such a shame too - he looked like the real deal when he came on for his first senior appearance. He had the skills, possibly lacked the mentality.

I saw him play for an Ipswich XI in a pre-season friendly (or possibly Suffolk cup-tie) a couple of seasons back and he was the best player on the pitch.

He must have been showing promise to have been given a 3 1/2 year deal before his debut but very sad that he never kicked on. Now 22 & needs to be playing senior football if he wants a career & after two unsuccessful loan spells at Chelmsford, I think he'll struggle to find a club in the current climate.
