Jim Magilton on Twitter... on 20:07 - Dec 30 with 5681 views | GeoffSentence | It's a bit cryptic. Hunt and the other muppet I understand are Terry Hunt and Derek Davis. So is he saying that the local media were on his back and the same is happening to PL? What is Paul going to sort out? The media? Or team performance?

I assume he means Hurst. Names obviously not his thing. Probably best he sticks to things he is good at, like scoring important hat-tricks and verbally abusing inexperienced teammates.

Just shows how far we have fallen. Magilton was sacked for coming 7th/8th in division we can now only look at as being a long long way off.

Jim Magilton on Twitter... on 21:27 - Dec 30 with 4740 views | hector_clifford | It would be good to have Jim back, as assistant to Lambert. It's funny that the guy on the east anglian, the sports editor chap calls Lambert a honey badger! I think we would definitely have 2 honey badgers then, and I wouldn't want to be in the opposition dugout!

I emailed "the other muppet" and ended up in an interesting exchange. Well, it wasn't that interesting. Reasoned though. And Deckchair, in hindsight, was just doing an arguably pretty average job of being a journalist (haven't heard much about him since), whereas Hunt was forcing the agenda and I still find it hard to forgive. In Terry's defence, Jim was dreadful with the media, BUT... Evans was the catalyst for all the sh1t. Marcus buying, ahem I mean "saving" the club, all looks pretty hollow now. Again though, it's not black and white, and I think it's more absent ownership than sh1t ownership, and we really REALLY need someone closer to Marcus to sort it all out.

At the infamous forest game with the bed sheets I also led a one man chant of Derek Davis what a w*nker and also a 1 man super jim chant from the middle of the north stand. I felt let down by my fellow supporters

Evans' input as owner wouldn't matter if we'd had a decent MD. That would have done. As for Jim, I picked up his/ one of his? secretaries whilst taxi-driving and she said he was sensitive to the noise going around from the fans; including forum talk et al. She liked him as a boss and said he was fundamentally a nice guy. But managers aren't all cut-out to be media friendly/savvy. Why would they?

My complaint letter on Jim's treatment by the local press was featured in The Star after their "Magilton Out" front page headline. Needless to say, I had the last laugh.

All completely true and I will will always stand by my defence for Jim I went out on a limb to shout f*ck off Lambert as well at the weekend at end of the match. I expected to get a slap for it but no one said a word. Burley - treated terribly at the end, legend Royle - massively over hyped, should be castigated for what he did to us but isn't Magilton - treated disgracefully keane - how he got away with it is beyond me. Should have been abused out of PR but was loved Jewell - indifferent really. Probably got the reaction McCarthy - treated disgracefully at the end Hurst - ridiculously over hyped before he'd done a thing Lambert - see Hurst and keane
