He’s going to walk 17:14 - Dec 29 with 2250 viewsTRUE_BLUE123

I reckon tonight. Just a hunch

Poll: Will Paul Lambert be Ipswich Town manager on the final day of this season ?

He’s the sort that would be he’s not going to kiss goodbye to hundreds of thousands is he.

I suspect you may be right. Thursday’s post-match comments followed by today point towards it.

Maybe I am over analysing but the way he clapped us at the end of the game was like a man who was off.

I really hope so, but he knows his failure here is the end of him as a manager so I expect him to cling on and blame a lack of funding, despite us having one of the biggest and most expensive squads in the league.

I wouldn't put it past him to walk, comes across like quite a proud bloke and I doubt he will want to put his name to what he's witnessed this afternoon. it really was dire. Today might be a bit premature but another performance like that on NYD and you might be right.

Not sure he’ll walk yet but his post-match should be interesting. He’s been increasingly tetchy over the last couple of months. All is not well down there.

I don't think he has any intention of walking. He's a bullsh1tter, a bluffer with a bad hand.

Exactly. Why on earth would he and Taylor go over to clap the fans after that performance. Clap from a distance but not up close.

Maybe it was a goodbye!!

He has left his last 3 clubs by "mutual consent", all after less than a year.

Completely agree with your comments. His recent track record as a manager now makes him unemployable. He talks a good game, but his actions simply don't back him up.

Given he’s got an extended contract , why would he walk and lose hundreds of thousands?

Yes but that assumes Evans agrees.

We are simply talking about Lambert resigning. Why would Evans pay him anything in those circumstances when he doesn’t want him to go? The only reason to pay him is where you want to get rid, and don’t want an argument about money and process.

Yep, although a part of me hopes he might think he’d be better served going now and being able to paint his time here as a success (top end of table, wasn’t backed etc) rather than cling on and be confirmed as a complete failure

It’s wishful thinking though, he isn’t going anywhere

Funding is no excuse this time around though, that won’t be enough to save face. This is an excellent squad for this league.
