Price to paint a house 12:01 - Oct 1 with 2087 views | bluelagos | Just got quoted 1450 to paint the interior of a 3 bed house... Sound right? Expensive? (includes the paint for walls and ceilings, not skirting boards)

Don't just take my word for it! But that (to me) sounds OK, especially if it includes materials.

| Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me.
Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing.
Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial.
Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid.
Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

Price to paint a house on 12:59 - Oct 1 with 1809 views | Jeff_winger | Depends what quote is for does it include Walls Ceilings Woodwork ie skirting door frames. Is he moving furniture or you? sounds cheap, If you say the labour is £150 - £200 a day, he has quoted you about 1 1/2 weeks labour without any materials costs.
Price to paint a house on 13:26 - Oct 1 with 1726 views | britbiker | I charge £145 a day. A ' standard' room if prepped and painted correctly will take about 2 1/2 to 3 days. Thats 2 coats ceilings and walls and doors etc. Mind you I usually do a minimum nine hours a day on site. H/S/L can be 5 to 7 days depending on the amount of doors and stair woodwook. Materials can be anything as quality paint is quite expensive. 5 litres of tinted dulux vinyl matt is around £50. Scrubbable diamond matt is about £20 extra. You will need one tin for most standard sized rooms. Then prob around twenty quid s room for undercoat and satinwood/gloss. So yes that estimate is probably good if not slightly low. You may get cheaper quotes but there are also decorators who will cheat and do one coat only on ceilings and also miss doing an undercoat on woodwork. If they are any good they will likeky be booked well in advance. My clients know i'm always booked at least two months in advance. Good luck. [Post edited 1 Oct 2019 13:30]

Price to paint a house on 19:12 - Oct 1 with 1459 views | Guthrum | Houses vary a lot. Also, are the skirtings (or any other woodwork) not being done, or are you are supplying the paint for that bit? Depending on size of rooms, number of other rooms, current condition of surfaces, repairs, how many colours, etc., that sounds roughly right for a smallish 3-bedroom house.

Price to paint a house on 21:38 - Oct 1 with 1307 views | jeera | As others have already said, it depends what standard you want. If you just want to tidy it up and maybe change the colour of the walls the you are a lazy fecker for wanting to avoid the task yourself at [almost] any cost. How hard can it be to splash some emulsion about? Get down to Wickes man.
