Plus a LibDem-Lab alliance is far more likely currently than a LD-Con one. And what natural allies do the Tories have, apart from the DUP? I used the term in this thread, but very specifically to draw an analogy between cancer and the tactics of Leave.eu today. Leave.eu are a negative influence and serve no constructive purpose, much like cancer cells which can't repair themselves. So it's a reasonable analogy in that respect.
And it is an established saying. The above use of 'cancer' is defined in the Oxford English dictionary as follows:
